I actually bought this strap to act as a handle for my Nook Color e-reader; the device has a rigid opening on the lower left side that can be used to attach charms. I wanted something to help me hold onto the Nook and reduce the risk of dropping it.

While I don't know if this would work if I were, say, swinging the Nook around in the air, it does provide nice "drop insurance". It attaches easily, and feels very solidly made, and is large enough that even a large-handed person can get their wrist through the strap.

For something lighter like a camera this would be more than strong enough to act as an actual handle.

I purchased this wrist strap because I didn't want to use the neck strap that came with the Olympus E-P1. This wrist strap should work with any camera, but note that it does have the Olympus name printed on the silver part. I'm using this with the Skin Guard for Olympus PEN E-P1 [Brown] and the color matches perfectly.

I have this for ALL my digital cameras. It beats carrying the camera around my neck. Great convenience. And it is leather. Very presentable and useful. I haven't put it to the time test and can't confirm how well it lasts, but it does the job for now.
