I'm sure this was a closeout. The semi-hard case was being sold for less than $2, so I don't have any complaints. The zipper pull connectors were a bit wide, so I had to pinch them in to keep the pulls from coming loose, but the case is great, and it protects the camera well, is small and unobtrusive and seems durable enough.

Very nice compact case for my compact Nikon S6300 camera. It's just big enough to accept the camera and a spare battery, but you need to match up the shallower portion of the camera's back with the position of the battery in the interior net pocket. You could also store an extra SD card, too, if you wished. A caribiner makes attachment to a belt or belt loop easy.

The case fits my camera very well. I love the color. When I took it during my vacation, some friends said they really loved this case, lol. However, the fur inside the case gets into the tinny gap of my camera, making it dirty.

This case fits the Canon EOS 60D perfectly. It is perfect for protecting the camera in a back pack where I want it to take up minimal space and still be protected. I get many compliments on it. I definitely recommend it.

I purchased this for a trip I was taking to Europe for a little extra protection for my Canon t3i.

I've never drop my camera but while on vacation I dropped it twice not a scratch and the camera never stopped working. I'll never go out without this camera case never. If you think it cost to much or it looks to bulky, drop your camera once and break it. then ask your self why didn't I buy that case, why.

Reminds me of early camera cases I owned for my Pentax K1000. Only negative thing I would say about it is with the case on you cannot access any of the doors on the camera. This is really not a problem unless it is on a tripod.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program

As you can see in the video, this bag will hold a ton and a half of video gear. It's the perfect bag to haul a 3-chip camera kit with mics and on-camera lights to a job. That said, if you shoot run-and-gun and have to keep your bag on your shoulder while you work, this bag may not be the best choice unless you are pretty burly.

You can see in the video just how big it is. I'm not very big (but I'm stronger than I look... really ;D ) but even so, the LowePro Magnum DV4000 has become my go-to bag for interviews there's more than enough room and enough pads to cushion every single piece of my gear without having to cram anything in. And though it is fairly heavy when it's packed, as long as I'm just taking it from the car into a job, it's fine. I have smaller bags for when I need to be stealthier.

This is a great bag for the price.

PS It always makes my day to know that people find these reviews helpful. If you'd also like to ask a question or leave a comment I usually respond the same day, so if you have a question or comment (even if it's just to say, Hi!") feel free to post it below.

Thanks,

Claire

UPDATE I originally gave it 4 stars because there was what looked like a rip in the bottom pad. Chris H. let me know that what I thought was a rip is really an access slot so the pad can be replaced. Based on that info I have upgraded my rating to 5 stars. That makes me happy because I really hated giving this bag only 4 stars. I really love it.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Note re: Multiple Uses.

I've found this bag stores all my camera gear AND my laptop. Beyond that, a family member wants it to store and carry his video game systems. So, yes, it is great for a large camera + gear + editing laptop, but could have many other uses as well.

*****

I have a Canon XH A1s and it isn't easy to find a large enough camcorder bag. I already have the Kata CC-193 which isn't bad for the price (about half of the Lowepro cost), but has its own disadvantages.

A comparison of the two bags may be helpful to others with large camcorders. The good features of the Kata are that it is somewhat smaller than a small dufflebag and doesn't draw attention to itself (as in "Look! Expensive camera equipment!") The disadvantages are: not a whole lot of storage space (one side compartment and a couple of outside pockets) and very little padding, especially (mystifyingly) on the bottom of the bag. It is fairly lightweight and would probably pass as a carryon bag easier than the larger and bulkier Lowepro (whose dimension -doconform to what most airlines say a carryon should be, but might not if it was firmly filled to the top.)

The construction quality of the Lowepro is a definite strength, as is the well-padded design (and lots of extra pads. Just putting all the pads into my Kata bag--so the camcorder wasn't rattling around in all that empty space--greatly improved the smaller bag. Definitely one should buy or make pads for that bag. The Lowepro has quite a few, all with velcro, and they move around easily.

There's no question the Lowepro is well-thought out and well-designed. The handle has a soft, cushioned grip that really helps carrying it compared to a fabric strap. The shoulder strap is also padded and comfortable. There are many compartments--inside and out--and a waterproof "poncho" that is small when folded but serves well as a rain protector as needed. This was a great idea and just one example of the extra thought put into this bag.

If it has a drawback for me, it is the size. Although, compared side-by-side with the Kata bag, it doesn't seem more than an inch or so higher, it is considerably wider. And, with its square shape and padding it looks a bit bulky, like a portable cooler. Lots of good interior storage space, but not an easy bag to carry around with you.

However, there's no question that the Lowepro would do a much better job of protecting equipment--it probably would survive being dropped a short distance, for example, and that is not likely at all with the Kata bag.

Overall, a great bag, a great product and if one wants a small bag to quickly "grab and go", then the choice of camcorder and gear is probably the consideration, not the storage container. Storage-wise, and design-wise, this bag would be great storage for storing cameras and gear, though not the choice if you're walking around much with it. Highly recommended.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This case looks fantastic and exudes quality! We professionally produce videos for my wife's business and often have to move our cameras out of our studio to customer locations. Using the Lowepro Magnum DV 4000 AW case significantly simplifies the process of transporting my equipment and gives me piece of mind that everything will arrive in one piece.

This is a fairly large bag that easily fits my big Canon GL2 (see customer pictures) and all of its associated accessories (charger, headphones, cables, tapes, etc). There are so many pockets that there is a place for everything I carry and then some!

The features I like the best are:

+ Well padded Walls and floor to protect the equipment

+ Adjustable padding makes customizing easy

+ High quality zippers are very smooth

+ Attached Rain Cover easily deploys over the bag

+ Shoulder strap is VERY comfortable and lives up to the hype

+ Hand cart straps allows for attaching to handle of luggage for easy transporting

This case is exactly what I was looking for in a professional video camera bag!

Highly Recommended!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program

I recommend if you're looking for a sturdy bag for your videography equipment, this Lowepro Magnum 4000 is a good choice. I discuss it in the attached video. I gave it 3 stars, which doesn't suggest it's not worth buying, but it's missing a few practical features that I thought should have been included with a bag such as this.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Lowepro Magnum DV 4000 AW Camera Bag

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The Magnum DV4000 AW bag is a bag that not only serves the videographer who uses medium-large size video camcorders, it serves perfectly as a still-camera photo bag as well. This is a big bag that's made to hold a LOT of gear and protect each piece of gear superbly from shock and abrading against other items in your bag. It's fully customizable with well made and very thick nylon//foam dividers (they include plenty!) using a velcro fastening system that's easy to change and yet holds extremely well even with heavy gear in each compartment. you can customize your compartments very quickly. This large and professional bag (I've owned several Lowepro bags; all were excellent) does not disappoint at all with it's heavy duty construction, quality of construction and as importantly, it;s ease and convenience of use, either for video or still photo gear. The top of the bag has two major flaps on top which are zipper secured (and quite resistant to rain coming through) along with a velcro tab on the top flaps if you want to keep the flaps closed, but, available for quick access. For transporting your gear, a buckle system is added on the top to further secure the top of the bag and offer relief from stressing the bag when carrying/transporting your heavy gear. The bag will easily -swallowtwo Digital SLR bodies, power grip.4 large lenses, a flash, a pile of cables, batteries, charger, filer and more. While it is made for video gear, there is no way to say it can't be used for still gear. In fact, it is perfect for either. The bag offers several storage areas of varying sizes, offering abundant storage of accessories and items you may be traveling with (I believe it fits and qualifies as a "Carry-on" for airlines as well. The bag is pricey, but, you do get what you pay for and in fact, much more. I've used this bag a lot, traveled with it, dropped it a few times on hard floors.....etc.....with gentle cleaning ....and a vacuuming inside now and them it still looks as new as the day i got it. If you're looking for one bag that will take all you need along, this is it. Highly recommended. If you have never purchased a Lowepro product before (or even if you have!). Be ready for a very pleasant experience! This is a keeper and anyone who buys one will be very happy with their purchase. I used to carry my gear using two medium sized shoulder bags. Now it is this one only and it still has room for more gear. If you have so much gear that most medium-large sized bags might not work, give this one a try! It will do the job.

This case is very rugged, well made, and surprisingly lightweight given the strength of materials. I buy Pelican cases because they are ALWAYS well made. There is no substitute for this particular brand of case. There are, however, many attempts to make cheaper cases with some of the features. They never stack up to Pelican.

Just got this case for my rc charging stuff ,keeps all my batteries and charging wires and other things.

This case is super strong and has load of room , you can drop this case and everything in side is safe no worrying about anything getting broken the foam padding is supreme and plenty of it

One word rugged! I got this case to put a PrinkStick, cords, mouse, and netbook in for my father-in-law trucker that doesn't know how to take care of things too well. This case is amazing for the price! Cabeles sells something similar for around 2 times the price! I have not tested out HOW water proof it is, but with how HARD the locking mechanism is to lock in place, the nice rubber grommet that's around the seal, and how tough the whole thing feels, I imagine this sucker could be submerged underwater! Its big, clunky, and a little on the heaver side, but damn its a good buy!

I will be buying more for my hand guns, that's for sure!

Honest reviews on Pelican 1450 Case with Foam for Camera (Silver)

What a deal! The same case was $135-140 locally. It arrived well packaged, in great shape, had the perforated foam to make it easy to fit my camera. Definitely a great deal.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Pelican 1450 Case with Foam for Camera (Silver)

the pick-n-pull foam is great except for the way I wanted to design the interior of the case, it didn't allow for horizontal/sectioning of the foam, you can only pick the foam out vertically. I wanted to pull the first inch or inch and a half layer but had to cut it...it still worked but didn't look all that great when finished.

would recommend pelican cases to anyone for anything, the case is awesome and will be purchasing more in the future...had first experience with pelican cases in the military.

This bag gives a wonderfully snug fit for my Nikon D90 and attached 18-55mm VR lens. It cradles the camera perfectly. And there is more than enough room left at the top, above the camera, to accommodate the camera's shoulder strap.

That said, the 18-55mm VR lens is among the shortest of Nikon's standard zooms. It's 3.1 inches long -a tad shorter than the 16-85mm VR (which is 3.4 inches long), and the 18-105mm VR (which is 3.5 inches long). What about them? Don't worry, this bag WILL accommodate those lenses as well. It just requires that you fold the shoulder strap a bit more carefully to fit it in.

What about the 18-200mm VR? It's 3.8 inches long, and I think that's just a tad too long to fit neatly in the bag. I haven't tried it myself (I don't own an 18-200), so who knows, perhaps it would work. But it would definitely require a bit of pushing and pressure on the zipper, I think. Those with the 18-200 are advised to get a slightly larger bag.

So, I'd give this thing five stars for the fit and construction. Why deduct a star? As others have noted, it doesn't have enough (or spacious enough) pockets; and even worse, the outer pocket, while tight, has no seal or flap over it, which means that it's potentially exposed to the elements. Since all my photography takes place indoors in museums, this isn't a problem for me. But I image that outdoors enthusiasts caught in a storm would be irked to find water getting into the outer pocket....

This case fits my Canon Digital Rebel XSi with the stock 18-55mm zoom lens, so it's always ready to grab and go. It has plenty of cushioning and a good zipper. The blue is nice too, I'm tired of everything electronic being black.

Best Deals for Lowepro Cirrus TLZ 15 Holster Style Case For Digital SLR & Short

This case works great with my Nikon D40 / 18-135mm lens. There's actually a little bit of room to spare on the sides of the case, for filters, etc. I like the design of the bag, it looks sleek and is small enough to take anywhere.

My one complaint is that there aren't enough pockets. There are only two; one in the inside of the case's main flap, large enough for a shutter remote, a couple of SD cards or... well, that's about it. There is also another one on the outside of the case (behind the emblem). I only use this for my cell phone / ipod, things like that. I would like to see a couple more USEABLE pockets in the sucker. It'd be nice to be able to organize basic accessories a bit more without having to buy a huge or expensive bag.

For a basic, everyday, grab and go bag, it does the trick.

Honest reviews on Lowepro Cirrus TLZ 15 Holster Style Case For Digital SLR & Short

When I say 'snug fit' I mean that in a good way. I dont really care to have the camera move around very much at all in the bag. (And it doesnt, at all...)

The pocket on the front (behind the Lowepro logo) is really bigger than I had imagined from reading the reviews on here. You can put remotes, extra batteries, etc in there. I also put the camera strap in there. I don't really like to have the camera strap on the camera and only use it at certain times. the strap can be folded in alongside the camera with no problem inside the main compartment as well if that's what you prefer. (I really wish the stock Canon strap was easier to get on and off the camera.)

Overall seems well built and stitched. Ample padding. Great buy for the money IMHO.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Lowepro Cirrus TLZ 15 Holster Style Case For Digital SLR & Short

After having recently bought a new DSLR camera, I was in major need of a bag that would keep it safe and secure for photo walks and travels, yet didn't [mistakenly] look like I was carrying a nuclear explosive inside. Something that could be worn on the shoulder/across the chest, without causing 2" thick red marks in the dents between my shoulder and neck, while bouncing heavily against my hip.

The big named electronic and camera stores all carried types similar to what I was attempting to avoid. And expensive, to boot.

I'm a sucker for reviews, and read them like they are novels of their own and the ones for this, entranced me into their happy stories of success. So, I won't add on too much redundnacy to my review, other than if you have a Canon EOS Rebel XS with its kit lens (and probably XSi as they have essentially the same body type), this bag is the perfect fit for your camera with the original neck strap and a couple of memory cards. The adjustable strap of the bag is excellent, and allows you to wear it across your chest, low and comfortably.

If you don't want your camera to be placed into a bag with the lens facing down, then I obviously don't recommend this item. There isn't any extra padding on the bottom of the bag just the same, thick padding all around (although it is sufficient enough for "regular" use which to me means walking around, placing on a table or in the car).

Shipping time was super speedy! It was noted to expect it about five days after I actually did receive it excellent!

This item is described as a 'hard case'. In reality, it is 'semi-hard', at best. It's thin neoprene (I think) covered in a thick plastic film. From the description, I was expecting a hard plastic case that hopefully would stand up to someone standing on it, or similar. This would not (well, hopefully maybethe strength of the enclosed camera itself would stand up to that but the case wouldn't help it). It would help to protect from drops or bangs though.

Pros:

* Plenty of space for extra battery and a few extra memory cards (I'm using the DSC-TX5).

* holds the camera securely, while still being quite small overall

* the plastic covering cleans up easily

* case protects from bumps/drops

* price is great

Cons:

* Case isn't a 'hard case'. Semi-rigid at best

* Could be better looking. Personally, I think it would look better without the white piping.
