Cheap Case Logic MSEC-2 EVA Molded Compact Camera Case (Black)

(2008 HOLIDAY TEAM) Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Case Logic is owned by Thule, those people that make sports utility transportation that you see riding on car roofs? In this instance, Case Logic has constructed a compact protection case for your `point and shoot' camera. The exterior is a hard molded shell which will hold your camera, with a netted pocket that will hold an extra flat battery and an SD card or two. Not much more. The zipper is standard and would protect your camera by being water resistant, but NOT waterproof. The lanyard is not adjustable, so it's kind of pointless.

"Almost" any slim-line, `point and shoot' camera will fit comfortably. I don't dare test it by dropping it on concrete or even a carpeted floor, but it does offer some protection. I wanted to give an idea of size and function with the video. In reality, my FLIP Video did fit, but it was very, very tight and when I zipped it up the on/off button kept turning on not good. For the casual protection of your slim-line camera, it will work and the price is appropriate.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The Case Logic MSEC2 Camera Case is a toned down design on a usually well made line of products. After it arrived I gave it a serious test run over the weekend with my daughter's Nikon Coolpix. There is room for the camera, spare battery and SD cards. Not much else is going to fit in this model.

Theres definitely a big difference on the amount of EVA padding of this case compared to other Case Logic products we own. Its practically non-existent. The smooth exterior finish will probably pick up a few more scratches and dings too. The thin, metal zipper feels a little flimsy. I seriously have my doubts that the zipper will last long. This model also comes with a small nylon lanyard equipped with plastic hardware. I wouldn't put too much faith in the lanyard. Weather wise its safe to say that this unit wouldn't hold its own outdoors. This model comes in both a blue or black exterior finish.

On the inside, the manufacturer forgot all about lining the interior. Protection is average at best. This case has an interior netting designed as a slip in pocket for storing SD cards or cable. The Case Logic MSEC2 Case measures 4.5" x 3.2" x 1.4" inches and weighs in at almost 2 ounces. Like all Case Logic products, this model boasts a twenty five year warranty against defects. This particular model is strictly for light use. I wouldn't recommend it for backpacking or trips to the beach. Its perfect for storage around the house.

I've been a loyal user of Case Logic products for years. There products are second to none. However I find this model lacking. Still even with the flaws that I've mentioned its a given that this product is a step of from the competition. For light use and storage, it'll do the job.

This is a great semi-hard molded camera case. It has a loop which I attached a carabiner, allowing me to attach it to a belt loop. With my camera in it it measures almost 4.5" by 3.25" by 1.75". This is pretty much maxed out. This case is not for you if your camera is thicker than 1.25"(mine is exactly that). It will fit any camera up to 4"x2.5", which covers alot of "point and shoot" camera's. It also has two straps that keep the opening of the case to about a 45 degree angle. They are elastic, and are great when you want to remove or replace the camera without taking the case off your hip! It does have a pocket inside that will hold a memory card and/or a small battery. If you are looking for a case to hold your camera on days when it is actually being used, then this case is what your looking for. It provides above average protection too.

Honest reviews on Case Logic MSEC-2 EVA Molded Compact Camera Case (Black)

I would give this camera case ZERO stars if I could. To begin with, I purchased this case believing it was actually going to be hard. I want a case that protects my camera in the event I drop it or bang it against something. The case is semi-hard (which is never good!) I was also disappointed with the strap. I knew right away it was not very durable and was afraid to use it since I spent $250 on my camera. When I got the case home I showed it to my fiance & he gave the strap a gentle tug to test it's durability. It came right off the case. Useless. However, I give Amazon 5 stars for ease & convenience on returns. They credited my account for the cost of the case plus a shipping refund & they didn't even require me to send the case back! Nice customer service Amazon!

Nice case, definitely offers sufficient protection. However, if you are getting a camera the size of the Nikon 8100, it will be a tight fit.

I recently received my new hard case from GTS photo for my Canon Rebel T3i. It is REALLY NICE!! The camera and other components fit PERFECTLY in the pockets in the foam. And the foam is not the typical pick n pluck junk that eventually comes apart and deteriorates. It is polyethylene closed cell foam that will not break down or absorb moisture and it will stay looking good.

And the case itself looks virtually indestructible! I love it!! Get one to protect your stuff!!

We use these cases all the time for shipping equipment overseas. They are heavy, but perfect for protecting even sensitive equipment like desktop computers. Kurt Jarchow

Its very hard to tell by the pictures how big some of these pelican boxes really are. (Imagine a 5'11", 270 pound man sitting in this box and just fitting, barely.) This one is very large and bulky, not real heavy, say 40 lbs, but it works for the intended purpose of storing and transporting high dollar equipment. I got this one for $203 because it was a return. Why anyone returns these boxes is beyond me. These were designed to protect high dollar equipment from dirt, sand, water and those who are accident prone. I bought mine to protect two high dollar 18.4 and 17.3 inch gaming laptops, a large Epson workforce printer, cables and other expensive devices. Granted the pick and pluck foam isn't memory foam, but it does what its supposed to do and that is to hold expensive items in place and prevent shifting and jarring damage from occurring. This foam is a one time pick only, you can put it back in, but it will end up falling out all over when you go to remove the foam to remove your equipment. Your better off replacing the foam with new stuff rather then trying to glue or tape it back in. You can find replacement foam and other accessories on Amazon or Pelican website at a decent price, your likely to get a better price from Amazon as they have their own Pelican store. Best thing to try when your looking to invest in these kind of protective boxes is using a tape measure and doing simple length, width, height measurements from the technical specs using your bed or something. (Just pretend or something.) This will give you a better idea of how big some of these boxes really are.

Remember, buy nice or buy twice!

Manfrotto MB LB050-5BB PRO V Backpack
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

This bag looks and feels fabulous. It is expensive but the quality materials used probably justify this. I have owned mine for over a year now so I reckon I am well qualified to comment here and rate this bag. If I was back a year ago I would have opted for something else and this is only because of a couple of niggly little things about the bag that I hate. I am probably a little annoyed with the manufacturers more than anything because of all the spin and advertising rubbish they spew out and the video reviews. These should be ignored completely as they are probably paid for by someone somewhere. Here are my views and they're straight up and truthful and I have photos to prove it so if you're the manufacturer then take note and rectify the problems.

First: If you're going to buy this bag then buy yourself some cable ties. The reason is simple: the zipper toggles may look good with the red manfrotto logo on but they are rubbish quality. I had only had my bag a few weeks when the first one broke off. The zipper part works still so I attached a cable tie and closed it in to form a loop about 4 inches long. Now I can put my finger in the loop and close the zipper easily. On examination, I noticed that the reason it probably broke was because of the water proofing membrane used on the zippers. This may waterproof the bag somewhat but it also makes it very hard to close the zippers. I suppose that's called compromise.

Second problem: The zippers on the two side pockets are the wrong way round. Did someone from manfrotto actually use this bag in the field or was it designed for show?

When you lay this bag down on its back to get at your gear through the large opening (not through the top) the zippers on the side pockets are underneath which means that if you open either one when the bag is on its back then the contents can easily fall on the ground and may be damaged. Again, this could easily have been rectified by the manufacturer if they had used it in the field as all they would have to do was ensure the zippers opened the opposite direction.

So lesson 2....Don't open this expensive bag's side pockets when you lay it down on its back (you could lay it on it's front side but the padding which protects your back would soon get destroyed with muck and wet)

Will I go on?

Oh how about the ridiculous placing of the tripod straps? If these were on the side then it would have been much better all round as You cant place the tripod on the back and then stand the bag upright. The tripod slides down when you walk with the bag on your back so the legs prevent the upright positioning of the bag when you take it off.

Whilst some may think that I am being very pernickety here, I have my reasons and all I will say to you is this; Buy the bag for its beauty and perhaps the prestige or even for the fact that it holds a ton of gear but buy yourself a very small tripod and a waterproof blanket to lay the bag on in the wet and definitely buy yourself some cable ties for when the zipper toggles break off because they will in time. If anyone wants photos then I am more than willing to send them.

Overall the bag is beautiful and holds so much gear that it truly amazed me. Carrying 20kg was no problem even over rough terrain with this on my back but all the while I was thinking of how I would protect it from getting damaged when I took it off. Yes there is a rain cover provided but what do you do when that cover gets dirty and you have to try and cover your bag from the rain?

As I said... My opinions after owning this for 12 months

If I paid full price for the bag, I wouldn't be satisfied with this purchase. But with Amazon's discounted price plus the $150 rebate from Manfrotto, I'm happy with this bag. It's so big it holds all of my camera equipment.

I wouldn't carry this bag around though. It's too big. I purchased the sling bag version when I need to carry my camera.

Quite roomy for a small camera bag. I had a difficult time finding a small camera bag that could fit my camera. This top-loading bag can hold a larger SLR with a battery grip, hand strap and medium zoom lens attached with a non-reversed lens hood. And there's room for more -another lens or two or a flash unit and some smaller items like batteries, filters, memory cards, film, etc. The padded lens compartment dividers are velcroed and can be adjusted to fit your equipment. The right and left lens compartments can be further sub-divided with two included padded velcro partitions but I don't find it very useful to stack equipment in this fashion.

The bag is sturdy and well-padded with a top handle and an adjustable shoulder strap. The top is held closed with quick-release nylon buckle for fast extraction of your camera but can also be zippered closed for added protection from the elements. Great bag for short trips!

I needed a new camera bag for my new camera, so I shopped a local camera store to see what they had. I was really impressed with the quality of the Tamrac products they had in stock. The canvas sides of the bag, the straps and the padding were all a notch heavier and better quality than similarly priced competing brands that I saw in that store. But I didn't buy there, since they only carried backpack styles in the Tamrac brand, and I wanted a more conventional, non-backpack style bag.

I did an Internet search for Tamrac products when I got home and found that they have a huge and varied product line of camera and video bags, many more than I saw in the store. Since I now knew of their quality, I simply picked a Tamrac bag by the advertised features, size and price.

The Tamrac Explorer 2 is fairly small, but ideally sized to carry my Nikon D80 DSLR with a 18-135 Nikkor zoom attached. There is also enough additional room for a good sized flash and an extra lens. And, there's plenty of space for small things like extra memory cards, batteries, cables, etc.

My camera's body with the lens attached measures a total of 6.25 inches long (back of camera body to end of attached lens), 4 inches tall (camera body base to hot shoe) and 5 inches wide. This bag will accept a camera body that is even wider than that, but the 6.25 inch total length is close to the max that this bag will comfortably handle. If your camera/lens combination is longer than that, you will want to look at a larger bag, if you intend to carry your camera with the lens attached.

Finally, this is a bag that should last you many years with only minimal care. It is solidly built from quality materials. Just keep in mind that the size of this bag is suitable for just one camera body, a couple of lenses (one attached to the camera body), a flash attachment and the assorted small items that support a DSLR system. If you want to carry more than this, get a larger bag.

Best Deals for Tamrac 5502 Explorer 2 Camera Bag (Blue)

Very pleased with the quality of this bag. Shoulder strap pad is made to conform to your shoulder and does not feel bad even after a full days use.

Strap could be a bit longer IMO, I like to put the strap over my head and carry it on the other shoulder so it will not slip off.. just not long enough to keep top of bag as low as I like, but still works just fine.

I'm 6 foot and wear a size 42 long jacket as reference if that helps at all.

I would suggest that you go by the actual inside measurements rather than Tamrac saying WHAT it will hold. Not sure just what lenses and flash units they are testing with, but seem to be of smaller size than what I have in use.

Normally, I carry a backpack type camera bag to hold all my gear, but now and then find I don't need everything with me and would still like to protect my gear and keep it ready for quick use.

I stepped up from the Explorer "1" to this size just as I was about to order, because I wanted plenty of room and it's not quite what I thought in that area based on how many items they state it will hold.

This does hold a Cannon 20D or 40D with battery grip plus shorter lens like the 17-85. (Don't pull the velcro divider straps all the way flat)

a full size flash and flash grip, along with extra batteries, memory cards etc.

They do make various, smaller, add-on cases that can mount on the strap and that works well also if you need to carry more items.

One feature I messed up on.... I started looking at smaller Tamrac bags and they featured a way to strap to your belt along with a shoulder strap and I like that in my other bags.

However, I used the Tamrac site "quick look" to look at the line and kept up-sizing until I saw what seemed to hold enough items, but failed to see that it dropped the belt feature at some size, so just be sure and read the features and measurments well before you order yours.

If you get one too small, you have to pack it tight in the main compartment, makes you lose the use of all the other zippered compartments as filling these will make things fit worse or not at all.

Honest reviews on Tamrac 5502 Explorer 2 Camera Bag (Blue)

I love this camera bag. I looked through tons of different camera bags and narrowed it down to this one. I use it to hold my Nikon D40X camera with a 18-55 lens (attached to the body), SB-600 Nikon flash, Nikkor 55-200 lens, spare set of four AA batteries for my flash, a spare battery for my camera, an extra memory card, and my Nikon Digital Field Guide book. The main part of my bag is full, but there's still plenty of room for extras like cables more memory cards and other small accessories. It's compact and carries all my necessities in a very organized fashion. The bag is weather resistant and seems very durable. I would definitely recommend this bag and consider it a must have for a DSLR camera owner.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Tamrac 5502 Explorer 2 Camera Bag (Blue)

I bought the Tamrac Explorer 2 for a Nikon D80 recently, and it seems to be pretty good. I like the general look and design of the bag, as it looks like a traditional gadget bag. I especially like the extra zipper for the cover, which helps keep dirt and dust away from the main compartment where I store my camera, and the single clip securing the cover works well when I don't need the extra protection of the zipper. While reasonably compact, the bag is fairly sturdy, although I haven't "taken it on the road" yet to see how it holds up under normal travel wear and tear. Storage seems adequate for now, although I only have one lens for the camera (18-135mm), which I keep mounted on the camera when I store it in the Tamrac. Adjusting the velcro-secured panels to accomodate my stuff took a little time, but the final configuration seems to meet my needs, and secures the camera quite well. My only complaint is that when I store my camera "lens down" within the space I created with the velcro panels, the lens extends when I remove the camera because the fit is so tight. I also wish the Tamrac Explorer 2 had side pockets to store additional items. Other than that, it's a nice bag that keeps my camera safe. The shoulder strap seems comfortable, but I won't know how it feels after extended use and lugging the fully loaded bag around on my next vacation. Overall, I would recommend buying this bag.

This case is the perfect size for my Canon T3i with 18-55 mm lens and neck strap. There is additional room for an extra battery and a few other small items in the back side zippered compartment. This item appears to be strong and durable with plenty of padding for camera protection. It is not large in size, probably not much larger than the camera itself, and easy to carry. Just what I needed as an alternative to carrying my large backpack style camera case (which of course holds much more..... additional camcorder, Canon lenses, small tripod, filters, etc.)

Here's an in depth look at why I chose this holster bag over others...

-CONSTRUCTION-

This bag is very well made, durable stitching and high quality zippers. The top handle is nice and feels solid in your hand.

-PADDING-

Thick padding on the inside and visible yellow inside makes it easy to see your DSLR in low light settings.

-PADDED STRAP-

It comes with a removable, padded strap that has a "grippy" texture that is comfortable to wear. Competitors such as Lowepro Toploader and Tamrac holster bags do not come with a padded strap. This is important especially on long trips since the padded strap will be much more comfortable to have over your shoulder for extended periods of time. Excellent strap, however it could've been a little longer.

-WEATHER COVER-

Great feature. Weather cover folds away into the bottom of the case and is attached to the bag so you won't lose it. The cover doesn't completely cover the side of the bag closest to you but this shouldnt be a problem since it covers the top, front, and sides of the bag.

-SIZE-

Great size. I didn't want something too big and the bag is the perfect size for a DSLR with one lens. Fits great with D90 and kit lens but big enough so that if you want to upgrade your lens, there will be enough room.

-CONS-

No side pockets and front pocket is small. I wish that there were more pockets but it does have a front pocket to store small accessories like a spare battery, lens cloth, or filter. Front pocket does not have too much space but is adequate.

Strap could be a little longer. At max length it goes down to my waist when wore across my shoulder and I'm about 5'10"

5/5 I highly recommend this bag!!

I highly recommend it i am on the go all the time with my equipement and the advantage of this holster is that you can carry it around your neck or into a belt or your harness, if you own one

the top zip cover (that you can open from left or right) helps you to have quick access to the camera. you also have 2 mini pocket into the cover where you can slide memory stick or remote control for your flash. on the front, you also have another zip pocket for additional storage.

the plus of this holster is a quick waterproof cover hidden at the bottom of the holster that you can pull up in a ny second if you get caught into a sudden rain or snow, which is a big plus to protect your quipement against humidity.

it easily fits a SLR body along with a 28/80 lense on it (I use a d3000 Nikon)no piece to build or unbuild ready to shot.

the inside flashy bright yellow is also great with you shot in the dark so you are sure you drop your camera into the bag and not miss it.

it is a no brainer

Best Deals for Ape Case Standard Digital SLR Holster Camera Bag (ACPRO650)

This is an exceptionally well crafted holster bag. Everything about it screams quality, particularly the padding, zipper seal and inner lining. The integrated rain cover is icing on the cake, and came in handy a few times during a recent month long trip. I've been carrying a Canon T3i plus attached EF-S 15-85mm lens and hood with room to spare, which I use to store my RF remote trigger kit and padded camera strap. Except in the case of a really long lens, you can suspend your camera above the bottom of the bag using the movable (velcro) platform wedges. In my case, I didn't even need to reverse the lens hood, which was really convenient. The front pouch is great for thin items like filters, lens cleaners or extra memory cards. You could probably shove a spare battery in there. The inside of the top flap has two additional pockets sized for memory cards, which is where I put mine. The fact that the top flap opens away from your body was also appreciated. Really, I have nothing bad to say about this bag. At all.

Honest reviews on Ape Case Standard Digital SLR Holster Camera Bag (ACPRO650)

I had eyeballed this bag and the compact plus variant. I thought that I could possibly fit my T3i with an attached lens, plus an additional lens into this bag all at once.

This would allow me the freedom of swapping lenses without having to carry my much larger Amazon DSLR backpack.

By removing the velcro supports I freed up enough space to do what I wanted. I have a 55-250mm zoom lens on my camera, and inside a neoprene pouch is my kit lens (18-55mm).

Any similar sized lens combo should be able to fit just fine!

As far as the quality of the bag it is well made and looks durable. The rain cover is a nice feature! (But I hope I won't ever need it!)

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Ape Case Standard Digital SLR Holster Camera Bag (ACPRO650)

A perfect size of an afternoon's shooting on the go. If you know what you need and don't need to carry a full size gear backpack this is the way to go. Currently it holds a Canon T3 with battery grip w/ a 28-80mm lens with enough room for a 50mm lens in the very bottom. But it will easily fit the T3 body with the 75-300mm lens I know I tried it out.

A padded handle on the top, a belt loop on the back and hooks for included neck/shoulder strap are your carrying options.

Inside is well padded in a bright vibrant yellow w/velcro adjustable camera body supports. On the interior top flap there is storage for memory cards and on the exterior a front vertical zipper for whatnot.

The construction seems very durable with a water repellent fabric, metal zipper pulls w/tags, and quality stitching. And as an added benefit on the rear by the botton is small area with velcro closure inside is an attached rain cover.

Very happy with this purchase.

Despite owning several pocket cameras since 2003, I had never felt a need for a carrying case. My pocket was just fine. When I purchased my latest pocket camera, I saw this case as something I might want to consider. I noticed the hook for hanging on a belt loop and was sold. I tried one and liked it as much for the hanger as anything. Gone were the chances that I might bend over and dump a camera on the concrete as I once did. I liked the first one enough to order a second for the poor previously dropped camera that still works fine.

Every product has a weakness for the user; this one is no exception. If I had my druthers, the hanger would be a tad easier to attach with one hand, there would be a small pocket for a spare battery and the case would be waterproof, in case I fall into a creek or endure a literal rainforest in Suriname again.

This case is attractive as well as functional. The mess holder is great for an extra battery or memory chip.

It has a hook that is great to attach to my purse or pants loop so I don't have to carry it.

The case works very good. You just need to make sure the lens of your camera is properly centered in the built-in clear lens of the case as it could create some distortion in the picture. This is my second case as I my first case was stolen at the beach!!!

This bag makes it convenient to keep a small camera system safe in a shoulder bag or backpack, and to move it between them easily for travel. The size is just right for a Micro Four Thirds camera system (I'm using an Olympus OM-D EM-5). A Canon 5D with a moderate lens just barely fits face down, but the case isn't intended for that (see the other available sizes).

Pros:

+ The dividers are well designed to support a Micro Four Thirds camera with the lens attached and pointing down, and still fit two items such as a lens, flash, or charger.

+ Well padded on all sides.

+ Very light.

+ The black/gray version is bright red inside -a little garish, but makes it easy to see small items.

Cons:

The outside pockets are too small; only one is big enough to hold a lens filter, for example. Two larger pockets would have been better than the five small ones.

I'm ambivalent about the drawstring top. It rolls back so it's out of the way, but since the case is designed to be inside another bag, a simple flap might be quicker to use, making it easier to keep other items off the camera gear.

I bought this on a whim after looking for small bags that can be stored in a backback, yet doesn't scream "There is an expensive camera inside of me" when taken out. The inside is totally customizeable with 2 velcro inserts (3 seperate compartments) so you can adjust the inside of the bag's dimensions to match whatever camera and accessories you have. This fits my Nikon J1 with attached kit lens, Giotto Rocket (small) with lens cleaning solution and battery/charger perfectly. The outside has small storage pockets which I use to keep a lens cleaning cloth and cotton swap in. The dedicated lens cap storage pocket is big enough for 1, maybe 2 caps at best. I have two in there and its a bit stretched out. All items are super snug and secure inside. This is perfect if you want to travel light and only take 1 or two lenses with you. I am sure once I get the 18mm Nikkor lens it will still be able to fit with the giotto rocket as well. Kudos to Crumpler for making one awesome bag.

This is a great bag to fit small camera and lens systems. I use it mainly to carry my Fuji X100 and Fuju X-E1 with an attached lens in a non-camera backpack.

Honest reviews on Crumpler Haven Camera Bag (S) HVN001-G01G40 - Olive/Black

I bought the small Crumpler to store my micro four third camera and the few lenses I own. Overall, the bag is well built, has some handy external pockets, internal dividers and is made with a nice material that I have no doubt will protect my camera and lenses.

However, even the small size is a bit larger than I expected. I know some have bought the medium for their cameras, but for my Panasonic GF1 and 20mm, 14mm, and 45mm lenses, there is quite a bit of extra room, especially on the top portion once you've placed the camera and lenses. I'd say its the size of a gift bag.

It easily fits on the bottom of a back pack or would fit in a luggage, but isn't quite as compact as I expected for a small.

I love this bag! It is just the perfect size that I was looking for! It only fits my t4i w lens. I wanted a bag that had protection and one that would be able to fit into a backpack. If you are looking for something that holds more than the camera and lens, get something larger. The quality of the bag is great. Perfect for my needs. Delivered very promptly and I am completely satisfied. This is just what I needed until I can afford the great leather bag I have my eye on.
