Discount Rotation 360 Backpack

Rotation 360 Backpack
Customer Ratings: 5 stars

I recently received the Think Tank Rotation 360 as a gift and I absolutely love this bag. It is an ingeniously designed backpack with two separable compartments: the normal backpack section with shoulder straps, and a belt section, which rotates 360 degrees to allow easy access to your gear without having to place your backpack on the ground (and it works well). Both compartments are designed to carry camera gear, with an option of locking or unlocking the belt section. It is a great choice for an outdoor photographer for various reasons 1. It is built like a tank with plenty of padding and it has attached rain cover for both compartments. 2. You have easy access to your gear without having to place your backpack on dirt or mud.

Here are the cons:

1. The backpack is not large enough for multiple, large telephoto lenses. If you want to carry both 70-200mm AND a 200-400, you should look for another bag, such as Lowepro Vertex 300 AW or something. The 70-200 alone will not fit unless you detach the lens. If you don't like doing that, you can buy a separate modulus for about $30 and attach the lens to the belt or the side of the bag, which may or may not be okay with you. But if your lenses are smaller than 70-200, you shouldn't have a problem fitting 4 to 5 lenses in both compartments of the bag. The belt section alone will hold about two lenses, as long as they are not as big as 70-200.

2. It may be heavy for you. (I have friends that complained about the weight, but it's fine with me. The weight of empty bag is about 5 pounds)

3. It may be over your budget.

4. It does not carry laptops.

Well, that's pretty much it for the cons. Except for number 1 and 4, I don't have any problems with it.

Here are the pros. There are too many good points, so I'll pick out my favorite parts:

1. Overall, it's well built: Plenty of padding for the camera and your shoulders, plenty of small pockets, rain cover, attention to details all over the place, it stands upright even when it's empty, lots of places to attach a modulus if you need extra room (at a cost though), ability to attach the camera to the shoulder straps, ability to strap a large tripod to the backpack (and you can still rotate the belt), and the list goes on and on.

2. The rotating part works quite well. You should watch the video on their website, but really, it works. The unlock/lock mechanism also works quite well.

Many of you are probably wondering about the rotating belt part, but I don't know what to say except that it's great. Just watch their video or read the manual and learn how to do it. Once you get the hang of it, it's really great. Oh, and a slight annoyance is that you do not have access to the material inside the belt when it is locked. It's not a big deal though.

Final verdict: Great, great bag, unless you want to carry large lenses or a laptop.

I purchased this bag about six months ago, and I took it to a few places during my family trips, from snowy Lake Tahoe to sunny Cabo San Lucas. It was able to take all the snow, water and sand. It is a fairly heavy bag even when it is empty. However, as expected, it is also heavily padded, both inside and outside. The padding on the shoulder, back and lower waist areas are very thick and very comfortable. Overall, it is a great camera backpack for traveling and outdoor photo-shoot events.

I am a father with a 3 year old child. As you can imagine, it can be pretty chaotic during a family trip. However, to my surprise, this bag does not interfere with our function anywhere.

This backpack is especially good in security check points at airports. It is tough enough that you can just toss it onto the security scanner belt without second thoughts (this is especially convenient when we have to carry a stroller and/or a car-seat through airport security check point). More importantly, it does not look like a camera backpack (unless you attach a tripod with it), so it doesn't get other people's attention. It is also big enough that you can keep your eyes on it easily. Lastly, and most importantly, due to its size and weight, especially with full gears, it won't be easy to take-and-run with it...

BACKPACK:

To give you a rough idea on the size of the backpack main compartment, it can take a Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 (hood reversed) in the center and two Nikon 24-70mm f2.8 (hood reversed) on each side, with some space to fit a MB-D10 battery grip and a couple of smaller lenses (such as 10.5mm fisheye or tele-converter(s) or any 52mm~62mm size lenses). The depth of the main compartment is about the same length as a MB-D10 battery grip.

I was able to fit a F100, a D300s and a MB-D10 on one side, Nikon 70-200mm (in the back) and a SB600 (in the front) in the center, and Nikon 24-70mm, a 1.7x tele-converter, a 10.5mm f2.8 and a 20mm f2.8D on the other side. Everything fits tightly, and yet, they are easy to remove.

You may also attach two other Think Tank camera gear bags on both sides, however, it won't take anything as wide as The Chimp Cage though.

The backpack also comes with a lot of straps for different purposes. You can attach a tripod on the back, sleeping bag at bottom and another camera in the front. In additional, there are additional straps to secure your long telephoto lens as well. In my personal experience, I was able to carry my D300s with battery grip and Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 on the backpack shoulder strap. Not only it took the weight off my neck, the additional straps on each side also secure my 70-200mm f2.8 to my chest. It is very easy and very safe to move around when everything is so tightly secured to your body.

BELT:

The rotation belt system does work, and it is secure. There are five places to secure your belt with the bag, two on the side, two on the back and one in the front. The main compartment can handle a D700 (or D300s/F100...etc) with Nikon 24-70mm f2.8 attached. Alternatively, it can take Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 with its hood reversed. You can also attach a separator on top of the 70-200mm to create an additional space for flash or other small things. However, D2/D3 or any camera with battery grip will not fit in the main compartment on the belt. The small side pocket can handle some small items. It can fit something as big as a 77mm CLP in its case. You can also attach one other Think Tank camera gear bag, such as Lightning Fast or The Chimp Cage, on the other side of the belt. I have attached a The Chimp Cage and it does not interfere with rotation.

One may wonder, do I really need to carry this big backpack all the time? The answer is NO. There's another advantage of using Rotation 360. The belt system can be used independently, without the large backpack. In fact, the belt main compartment has two loops, where you can attach a shoulder strap (i.e., Think Tank Curved Comfort). This will provide an additional support, so all the weight won't sit on your waist. When I am not traveling with all my gears, this will be my usual setup. You can still rotate the belt and still have easy access to everything. If you need more space, just attach another bag onto the belt.

PRO:

(1) Nice padding all over the bag.

(2) Belt rotation system.

(3) Built like a tank, great protection for your camera gears.

(4) Comfortable to carry around.

(5) Allow additional modification when needed.

(6) Able to take the weight off your neck and re-distribute to your shoulder.

CON:

(1) Weight.

(2) Size.

(3) Rather expensive, especially if you want additional parts.

(4) The backpack main compartment is smaller than I like... Would be much better if it is larger (or, rather, wider).

Overall, this is not just a camera backpack to carry your gears. It is a backpack that will help you to carry your gears safely, securely, and efficiently.

Best Deals for Rotation 360 Backpack

I've received this backpack for my birthday, but anyway it was selection.

I've searched all world to get a backpack which would meet my criteria:

easy access to photogear: take in and put back; especially during travel, which I do a lot

flexible, have room for some other than photo gear

sturdy, high quality

help me with my back problems

I must say I am still very happy with it. It's support for camera, which does not put heavy weight on your neck and fact that it distributes waight on both shoulders solved a lot of issues. I can now walk cities easily.

Right now I am looking for a way to use it's belts and expand capacity (for bottles) and I see there are many options.

It's not cheap, but I guess you will not need anything else.

I recommend !!!

PS: Sorry for my English, I don't use it that often.

Honest reviews on Rotation 360 Backpack

I love this backpack. I have had it for almost a year and used it on numerous occasions such as a day at the zoo, in an amusement park or a day trip in the forest. I have even brought this bag to the beach.

Typically I will have my camera hanging from the front-straps all the time, which puts the weight on my shoulders and not my neck. Then I will have an additional lens in the lower section and quickly swap lenses back and forth by rotating that part. The main part of the backpack is the used for additional lenses, extra clothes, water and whatever I want to bring along.

Pros:

+ Great build quality

+ Takes weight off your neck (this is really fantastic for a whole day of walking and taking photos)

+ Several smaller pockets and places to put your stuff

+ Can be put down on the ground and will stand straight up by itself

+ Lower section can be used by itself as a belt for shorter trips

Cons:

Normal backpack section not very large (though large enough to fit several lenses, a bottle of water, a flash and an extra sweater)

Rain cover a bit clumsy to put on (but it works)

Sometimes hard to fit in the overhead locker of a small airplane

No room for a laptop (I don't care)

Highly recommended.

Slim Case for Fuji Finepix F440 Digital Camera CASEThe case is hard and sturdy, but it has no loops to put straps on. Therefore it is of no use to me. Some people would love it if they are carrying it in a purse, etc.

It has a place for your battery and memory cards. It will protect the camera. If you don't need the neck straps then you may be happy with this case. It is very well-made.

Received this case as part of a package. It's sturdy, well-built, and fairly well thought-out, with a zippered (and flap protected) pouch on the front for accessories such as cables, spare batteries, etc. There is also a compartment built into the top for smaller items like memory card, lens cover, cleaning cloths, maybe a USB card adapter. The front and top compartments have velcro/zipper closures. The main compartment has a velcro adustable divider for presumably an extra lens.

There are two problems I have with the case. First, its too small, really for my PEN E-PL3 wearing the 14-40mm lens and 40-150mm packed to the side. It seems to be a common problem amongst cases trying to get too much in too small a space. I understand stuff needs to be tight in a case, but the camera barely fits, needing to be pushed in while pulling on the case. That leads to my other problem, which is the main compartment zipper. Dude. If you're going to put together a nice little case like this, why on earth would you put on a cheap zipper that breaks on the first zip? It's one of those nylon zippers with two zippers that can meet at the middle. But on this case they won't, because one is broken such that the closure is open on both sides. The other zipper will come around, with some effort to get around the camera and lens, but I'm guessing it will break soon, too.

In my opinion, a camera case should be secured with a latch, not a zipper. Especially a cheap zipper. With a couple of design changes this could be a good camera case.

I use a fountain pen ink that is the brightest, strongest, and finest looking blue ink that I can find. It's not only indelible and mostly bulletproof (no forger's solvents work on it) but it will stain anything. I mean anything: it is said that it will even stain stainless steel, which I found hard to believe, so then I had to use a scrubbing pad to get it off the kitchen sink. Needless to say, this ink and the pens using it have to stay in a water-tight box where it can do little damage. Amazon asked, so I had to say it.

I tested the case fairly thoroughly on the river this summer. I kept it in a small cooler while tubing. The seal held tight and none of my items came into contact with any sort of water or moisture. (I'm in Texas, the ICE melts quickly, so the product was sitting in water most of the time.) GREAT buy in my opinion, for protecting your gear in any situation that involves water. Will fit smart phones. I have a Galaxy S3 that fits great with room for cash and keys!

Best Deals for Pelican 1030 Yellow Micro Case With Clear Lid And Carabiner

I've seen these at the local camping store, but will buy from here because the price is much lower. These can have such a strong seal, though, that they're nearly impossible to open. So it's a good/bad trait for this product.

One reviewer was upset that his stuff got wet after swimming with it, but the description states that it is not for swimming or submerging. Besides, anyone who's familiar with "waterproof" products knows that "watertight" means water resistant, not waterproof. If it were, it would have stated to what depth it is waterproof.

I have several of these water proof cases made by different manufacturers. Some are cheap, some are middle of the line, then there is the Pelican. It is CLEAR that Pelican's are the best (at least of those that I have). The interior is different, and you get the immediate impression that the seal and construction are superior to the others.

I wanted a bag in which to put my Coolpix P7700 as it doesn't have a diaphragm but rather a lens cap, and in my purse it kept getting knocked off. Well, this carrying case, although the camera fits in it, is just too clumsy to fit in my purse. I ended up buying a neutral color filter..

This case is a great match for my L310. I was looking for something not too bulky, just enough to protect the camera from dirt and dust. My camera fits perfectly and there is room for spare batteries and SD card. The case does not have a strap or handle. The camera strap fits outside of the case for carrying. The nice thing about that is that the camera can be removed from the case with the strap around your neck.

The case seems to be well made and is a great price. I highly recommend it.

Cheap Manfrotto MB LB050-5BB PRO V Backpack (Black)

Manfrotto MB LB050-5BB PRO V Backpack
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

This bag looks and feels fabulous. It is expensive but the quality materials used probably justify this. I have owned mine for over a year now so I reckon I am well qualified to comment here and rate this bag. If I was back a year ago I would have opted for something else and this is only because of a couple of niggly little things about the bag that I hate. I am probably a little annoyed with the manufacturers more than anything because of all the spin and advertising rubbish they spew out and the video reviews. These should be ignored completely as they are probably paid for by someone somewhere. Here are my views and they're straight up and truthful and I have photos to prove it so if you're the manufacturer then take note and rectify the problems.

First: If you're going to buy this bag then buy yourself some cable ties. The reason is simple: the zipper toggles may look good with the red manfrotto logo on but they are rubbish quality. I had only had my bag a few weeks when the first one broke off. The zipper part works still so I attached a cable tie and closed it in to form a loop about 4 inches long. Now I can put my finger in the loop and close the zipper easily. On examination, I noticed that the reason it probably broke was because of the water proofing membrane used on the zippers. This may waterproof the bag somewhat but it also makes it very hard to close the zippers. I suppose that's called compromise.

Second problem: The zippers on the two side pockets are the wrong way round. Did someone from manfrotto actually use this bag in the field or was it designed for show?

When you lay this bag down on its back to get at your gear through the large opening (not through the top) the zippers on the side pockets are underneath which means that if you open either one when the bag is on its back then the contents can easily fall on the ground and may be damaged. Again, this could easily have been rectified by the manufacturer if they had used it in the field as all they would have to do was ensure the zippers opened the opposite direction.

So lesson 2....Don't open this expensive bag's side pockets when you lay it down on its back (you could lay it on it's front side but the padding which protects your back would soon get destroyed with muck and wet)

Will I go on?

Oh how about the ridiculous placing of the tripod straps? If these were on the side then it would have been much better all round as You cant place the tripod on the back and then stand the bag upright. The tripod slides down when you walk with the bag on your back so the legs prevent the upright positioning of the bag when you take it off.

Whilst some may think that I am being very pernickety here, I have my reasons and all I will say to you is this; Buy the bag for its beauty and perhaps the prestige or even for the fact that it holds a ton of gear but buy yourself a very small tripod and a waterproof blanket to lay the bag on in the wet and definitely buy yourself some cable ties for when the zipper toggles break off because they will in time. If anyone wants photos then I am more than willing to send them.

Overall the bag is beautiful and holds so much gear that it truly amazed me. Carrying 20kg was no problem even over rough terrain with this on my back but all the while I was thinking of how I would protect it from getting damaged when I took it off. Yes there is a rain cover provided but what do you do when that cover gets dirty and you have to try and cover your bag from the rain?

As I said... My opinions after owning this for 12 months

the S100 fits perfectly inside the case. The tripod mount screw screws into the camera, perfectly securing the camera in the case with no chance of it falling out. The case is made of leather on the outside and suade on the inside for great protection. Also, the leather strap is a nice touch. The 2 piece cover allows it to stay protected when removing the front cover, keeping the camera securely attached to the bottom cover while still connected to the neck strap. The whole thing has a nice old fashioned look with great functionality. Glad I picked this up.

I was very pleased to find that a camera case is now available for the relatively "new to the scene" Canon SX500 IS PowerShot digital camera. I find it to be a perfect fit for the camera and it offers quite a bit of protection against the unplanned knocks and "rattling around" that such a nice little camera is heir to. I spend a lot of time in some challenging outdoor locations in an effort to capture photos of wildlife and scenery in terrain that leaves a bit to be desired at times in terms of sure footing. This perfectly fitted, padded camera case is just the ticket for such duty as well as normal everyday use.

Honest reviews on Canon PSC-4050 Deluxe Soft Camera Case for PowerShot SX500 & SX510

The case works well and fits the camera perfectly. With the SX500 a rather odd shape no other case seemed to be suitable. The price was a bit high and shipping and handling high too but the case fits and that was my desire. It is small and does have a belt loop but attachment points for a strap would have been nice. It is designed to be used with the camera's own strap and has a snap tab to affix around the strap for retention when the camera is out of the case. I found it to be annoying having the case dangling though. Others might be ok with it.

Overall, the case fits the camera well and I am happy with it. I do think though that because of the camera's unique design, the case should come standard with the camera itself.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Canon PSC-4050 Deluxe Soft Camera Case for PowerShot SX500 & SX510

First off I think it's strange that you have to find and order a case when you buy a digital camera, at least the SX500 IS.

Anyway, my case just arrived today. Because of a mixup from the online store who sold it to me I ended up getting it for only $10, which was great. When I tried to put the camera in the case I thought something was wrong, till I tried it with the lens pointed downward. That's the only way it will go in! I'm also disappointed that there are no pockets for spare batteries or memory cards. But so be it. At least I have a case for it. So I'd say it's good, but not great. Hope this helps anyone thinking about buying one.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program

The Case Logic Sling camera bag is a very convenient carry case for camera and tripod, plus a few extras. The adjustable storage for the camera is a really good idea, we needed to remove both to make our sony A77 fit, but for a smaller camera the velcro shelves can be left in to ensure the camera fits snugly and leave room for extra lenses. There is another large zipper compartment that can easily hold a smaller camera, or a video camera. A slim front space is good for wipes or maybe a driver's license. The camera zip storage area also has a dedicate area for extra memory cards.

The camera case fits comfortably over the shoulder with a wide strap to keep the bag from digging in. The straps are adjustable for larger or smaller frames.

There is a water proof hood that you can put over the case when it starts raining. The case is well padded to keep camera and accessories safe.

*edited, Jim was in no way confused about the bag and found it easy to use. We didn't rehearse and he was sometimes confused with what I wanted him to show, and he totally spaced out about where his shoulder was in the end, which is why we were laughing so hard. He was never "puppy dog" confused about the bag at all.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Prior to this bag arriving, I already owned the Lowepro 350 sling, so my review is done with that bag in mind.

My Lowepro bag is completely perfect except in one arena -which is nothing to do with the bag but rather the one that I chose -it is too big. I found that while it carried everything I wanted, including my laptop if desired, it was too big to wear to an event because it would be in the way as I tried to navigate a room.

The Case Logic bag is the perfect size and carries everything I need: 1 Canon 5D Mark II with extended battery grip, 1 70-200 2.8, 1 24-70 2.8, 1 580exII flash, 1 Quantum turbo battery pack, 1 Gary Fong light diffuser (secured on the outside with the side strap), 1 monopod and 1 cotton carrier hip holster (secured outside). I am also able to put in all required batteries and memory cards, etc. etc. From that perspective it is perfect.

Also from the sling functionality perspective: I can swing it from my back to the front and access my equipment perfectly. I love the additional sliding/adjustable front strap which accommodates both male and female users (something the Lowepro bag fails at).

For me there are two aspects of it that I don't like. One is a perceived potential flaw, and the other is just a feature I wish it had.

The potential flaw is the strength of the stitching. Having filled the bag with all my kit and zipped it up, wherever things were a bit tight I could start to see the stitching exposed; it was stretching in the same way you would see the seam stitching pull in cheap jeans if they were too tight. This "flexibility" may be intentional but it is not comforting to see. My life experience would lead me to assume that this is an indication of future weakness and failure in the design/materials used.

In contrast, my Lowepro has been to 7 countries around the Middle East, around Europe and all across the US, and the stitching has neither indicated weakness nor displayed weakness and it is still as strong as the day I got it 5 years ago.

The second element which falls into the "I really wish it had that" is an external cell phone pocket in the chest strap -definitely not a deal breaker but it seems to be an ideal addition.

In closing I would say for light use this is a brilliant bag, and for a subset of my photographer friends I would recommend it without hesitation. For those more like me with my travel requirements and more heavy duty usage, I may display a hesitant recommendation.

Update: 11/21/2012 I have already seen the zipper do that weird thing that zippers do when they don't fully connect around a corner. One of the times was when there was a tight squeeze (not over the top just a little tight) to get the bag closed, and another time when it wasn't a tight squeeze. My initial thoughts regarding the materials used and the construction standards used during manufacturing, sadly, appear to be true.

This was a 4 star and I just took it to a 3, but really it should probably go to a 2 star because of the zipper issue. Seriously if I have a $2.5K lens in the bag and it falls out and gets smashed because there were a few pennies saved by going with a cheaper zipper, then that's simply not cool. The manufacturer's source of extra profits becomes the customer's source of extra cost.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program

Here's a video showing the sling case. (Sorry it's a bit long and may be boring) I added some pictures in the gallery as well.

At first I really wasn't sure about this sling and the price. However, after I put my camera and lenses in it, I fell in love with it!

I got the gray color and I like it, since it's more of a darker shade.

What I love:

It's not bulky or dorky looking like other sling bags takes up less space, yet it's packed with useful compartments and features.

Strap/Side compartment allows you to easily take out your DSLR while cradling it in front of you; I can swap lenses without putting the bag down; I just swing it around in front of my stomach and take out the camera/swap lenses.

The proper way to wear this is the sling goes on your left shoulder (the AmazonBasics Sling Backpack that I also own actually goes on the right shoulder to swing across properly; naturally, I put my backpack on to my left shoulder first. By unclipping the small clip that goes underneath the left side of your armpit, you can then swing the backpack around (obviously make sure the bigger clip that goes on the right side of your body is clipped on the backpack or there won't be anything holding it for you) by bringing the entire bag underneath your right armpit across to the front; then you'll be able to cradle it in front of your stomach securely.

Multiple handles (one on the top, side, and front) makes it easy to pick it up right away really has the user in mind!

Rain cover!

One more large compartment; you could fit another DSLR body in there or small video camera/light.

light tripod/monopod support on the side

In the video, I have a 55-250 lens on the left side, T3i with battery grip with 18-135mm attached in the middle, and a Sigma 10-20mm on the right side.

Case Logic makes cases for many cameras at an affordable price. I'm a definite fan of this one from them, so I feel it deserves a 5 star.

Honest reviews on Case Logic CPL-107GY Camera Sling for DSLR, Gray

This bag is great! Fits my Rebel camera with 300mm lens (barely, but securely), AND the standard lens, and various close-up filters and travel battery charger in the main compartment, pockets for batteries and memory cards, and it would ALSO fit a flash attachment in the top compartment but we use that for sunglasses, sunscreen... the pull-out rain shell is a handy addition! It is a low profile bag without extra width or depth but still holding enough stuff. the single sling is comfortable and the added clip strap will hold it securely. Access is rapid for quick shots. Well done, case logic!

Got this from Amazon just before a two week trip first to the Barcelona area then a cruise that took us to Mount Vesuvius/Pompeii, Downtown Rome via the train, Pisa and a Tuscany vineyard, then walking around Palma on Majorca then back to Barcelona. I experienced no problems with the case at all, Zipping remains smooth, Camera access is good, the strap is comfortable and it holds the gear I use.

Here's what I use it for. My camera is a Sony A-37 with a Kit lens and a sigma 28-200. The other lens is kept in the main compartment which I skew to one side using the included Velcro dividers to allow for better fit for the camera. On the other (smaller)side I keep six P series filters for easy access. With either lens attached to the A-37 I can leave the Cokin filter holder on. With the 18-55 lens on I can leave the Cokin hood on in either the inner or outer position. I put it above the filters in the main compartment when the longer lens is attached. For those familiar with this hood you know its not that deep. The main compartment flap has a zippered compartment for small flat stuff like a lens wipe and screen covers. Sewn into the flap there are two SD card holders with Velcro and each holds two of the new BASIC packaging. It also holds a samsung tab 3 7.0 which I eye-fi my pics to but only with a folio cover if I remove the filters.

The Upper compartment I keep several more filters about another 6, two chargers and four batteries in the mesh pocket on the flap. The mesh is perfect for the batteries because they are easy to find. There's a little room left over but not enough for a flash or another lens. Absent the filters and chargers there would be enough room for any of the Sony flashes and a small primary lens.

The front of the case has a gusseted zippered pocket which I kept a spare filter holder (I thought perhaps I might break one because it goes face down in the case but this was unfounded.), dead batteries and yes, a few more filters. I also kept a dust blaster.

The side of the pack opposite the access flap has a hard strap and an adjustable buckled strap. I used this for the small alum tripod that I use. I would have preferred a pocket at the bottom such as on the lowepro but believe me this is the ONLY thing I would change.

We had just about perfect weather during the trip but we did get caught in a thunder storm in Rome on the way back to the train station. It's amazing how fast the street venders change from offering bottled water to umbrellas but we had the pack covered with the built in waterproof cover so no sale for the street vendors. It takes about 15 seconds to deploy and doesn't interfere the pack strap at all. I don't think that it says this anywhere in the literature but this cover is detachable via Velcro inside the slot where it stores. It's not necessary to detach it to use it.

This pack carried and protected my gear through some pretty tough conditions. Lot's of crowds, buses and trains during the trip. Was definitely up to the task.

One little note. On Carrer Princesa in Barcelona there is a little pastry shop. Let's just say you might want to carry the case in front of you. It's comfortable enough that you forget it's there. So please anyone in Barcelona patronize this shop. It's the one with the plexiglass shelving in the window. No one could have been nicer about the breakage. You won't be disappointed with the pastries either.

Update: After several more photo adventures the bag is still going strong.

The instant I saw this case it convinced me that I needed to buy that G1X I've been eyeing just that much sooner!

I collect and shoot with old/antique SLRs, many of them accompanied by their own custom leather cases, and it's certainly "about time" a company went ahead and custom made cases because DAMN are they the pinnacle of style and function!

I've never carried around a separate foam/fabric camera bag, and having one for the Canon G series has always been unnecessary given the lack of fragile detachable lenses. This case best suits my needs of 'stuffing camera in bag/backpack and getting out the door' while still not taking up too much space in whatever bag i'm carrying that day.

The materials are very nice and well manufactured, the brass snaps do not seem cheap and there is a nice velour lining on the inside. I especially liked the matching strap and the ability for it to be mounted on a tripod while still in-case.

I love that this case is also 'incognito' in that if you're walking around on the street (unless someone is really looking closely) the case reads more as an actual vintage camera (which generally speaking camera thieves are not so interested in). Obviously though shooting with it (especially with the swivel screen out) will show your hand, so to speak.

I do not find the case interferes with camera function: when seated properly in the case the swivel screen's motion is not interrupted from any angle. When I first fitted the case on I was a little confused by the part that swings over and protects the lens; I thought it had to be removed every time while shooting but after a few minutes I figured out that you could just unsnap the front/bottom snap and swing that portion of the case over and under the camera for shooting without having to unsnap the sides (given the screen is not swung out)

All around excellent casual case with great style, I wouldn't run around in the rain with it, but who does that with their camera anyway?

This is a old style, old fashion, charming, camera case. Quality of this product is fairly high, details are well done and the leather smells good.

I secoffee defects in the product:

The belt to hang the camera is plastic made and not leather

To take pictures you need to completely remove the front portion of the case, otherwise you canot use the camera

Access to battery and memory is possible only after completely remove the case

Made well and a great price. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because the LCD swivel screen hits the button snap when the LCD screen swivels to the extended position.

Honest reviews on MegaGear Ever Ready Protective Dark Brown Leather Camera Case, Bag

This MegaGear case is good looking and well built. Just as advertised; and it fits over a Lensmate filter adapter with a UV filter attached. If you add a snap-on lens hood it will still just fit but you shouldn't need a lens cap with this case, especially if you have a protective filter over the lens.

For most shots you'll want to remove the front/top/back piece it's just a snap on each side and one on the bottom although you can still take pictures with it attached; and the swing out screen is not inhibited by it.

If the bottom tripod fitting had been just a bit farther from the bottom snap you could fit a snap-on tripod plate to the camera through the case and that would have been very convenient. I find myself removing the case entirely when I'm in great picture country and want to take a lot of shots: the desert, mountains, etc. since this case does not deploy for shooting quickly enough on those days.

Somehow this retro and very handsome case suits the G1X, which I think of as a technical breakthrough and first of its kind in serious photography.

The case looks great and is well made. It fits my Canon G1 X perfectly, even when using the adaptor ring with a 58mm polarizing filter. I liked it so much I bought one of each color. The strap is also nice as it has a rubber type backing to keep it from sliding off your shoulder.

Love this case! PERFECT for my Canon SX50. I took it to Africa with me, and it worked out GREAT! Not too bulky, but camera,

batteries, photo cards fit in perfectly. Nice to open from 2 sides: one for the camera, the other for everything else.

Thank you!
