I used this bag to carry a Panasonic FZ18. The camera would just fit when laid on its side, leaving enough space for all the other cables. However, I was not able to fit the lens hood in the bag when the cables were present.

Otherwise the charger fit in the front pocket, and some lens cloths fit in the side pocket.

The bag is very small, but looks and feels like a quality product.

If your equipment fits in this bag, then I recommend it.

I purchased this bag due to it's low profile and tie points for a monopod on the side. I'll be shooting at a crowded convention and I don't need a monopod whacking someone in the hall or elevator. I think it will be OK for this, but I can't really rave about it.

The Kata GearPack DL-100 is finally a camera bag that thinks like I do.

This is an incredibly lightweight camera bag / backpack. Compared to other camera bags I've used, this is a featherweight. As with other Kata bags, protection and padding isn't sacrificed for lightweight. They have managed to put padding exactly where it is needed.

I've struggled for a long time with my camera equipment. I have a Canon 7D, the big heavy 70-200mm f2.8 IS II lens, a fat, short and heavy 24-70mm f2.8 lens, a small video camera (a Canon Vixia), shotgun microphone, and a few accessories. The challenge has always been lens hoods and packing that camera with the 70-200mm attached. And then finding a simple way to cleanly swap lenses. This backpack is nearly perfect. It lays flat on the ground and the top flap zips open to expose all the compartments. The sides are rigid enough that equipment won't roll out of the bag when open.

The Canon 7D with the 70-200mm attached and lens hood flipped around, fits perfectly down the center compartment (a 300mm f2.8 would just fit in this bag). I am able to put the 24-70mm lens hood at the top of the center compartment. The 24-70mm fits perfectly in a side compartment. And the video camera fits perfectly on the opposite side. And my Cinevate quick-change plate (the Simplus) fits in another compartment. There are still a few small compartments for accessories. The shotgun mic fits just fine on top of the center compartment. There is enough wiggle room to change lenses. I can pop the camera and lens in and out of the slot quickly and easily.

The main body has double zippers so it is really fast and easy to get that flap open to access my gear. The top flap is opened with a single zipper. The top area is for small things, memory cards, pen, paper, and a cloth. Hard gear is not a good idea in this area. I was able to toss in two 500mL bottles of water and a paperback book. An iPad fits perfectly, although it should probably be in a case, there isn't a lot of padding in that outer compartment. A 13-inch laptop would be the largest I would put in that area, a 15 won't fit or be very well protected.

The pack is beautifully made. The armbands are wide and well padded. The back is slightly curved so it rides just right on my lower back. The loop handle on top is super strong and makes for a great carrying handle. The fabric is a rugged woven vinyl material that looks like it will wear like iron. The interior of the main and top compartment is a bright yellow. I really like that a lot. The main compartment is soft velvet felt like material that feels good. It is a pleasure to feel this material as I remove my camera.

I've kicked this backpack around. The padding is just that good around all sides of my camera equipment.

What I really like about this bag, the dividers were all in exactly the spot I needed them. I hate bags that give me a big package of Velcro dividers and then expect me to customize the interior of my bag. I'm just not creative enough to figure out the best layout. I end up putting those dividers in one way and then fight with them. No the case with this Kata bag. The two main dividers are absolutely perfect for my camera and I would expect most DSLR's. I've only had to move around the simple square compartment dividers.

The difference between the GearPack-100, -80, and -60 is pretty much length. They are essentially the same bag, except for the internal lengths: -100 = 16 inches; -80 = 13 inches; and -60 = 10 inches. The product picture with this Amazon listing shows how easy it is to pack that 70-200mm f2.8 in the center, with some space at the end; two lenses side by side, and a flash. The smaller models simply give up a little extra space at the end of the lenses.

I stood and looked at the 80 and 100 for a long time. I finally decided on the 100, for a very little more money, I got a lot more space inside the bag. I would say that the 100 is the right bag for somebody with a big wide 70-200 or 300mm. The 80 will work just fine for the 70-200, but would probably be a bit tight for the 300mm. And the 60 is for the kit lens or shorter focal length lenses.

After using this bag, I'm convinced Kata is safe with their guarantee of this being the lightest weight bag you can find with excellent padding. This is not billed as a waterproof bag, there is no weather cover built in. Looking at the zippers and how they are constructed, I would guess this is a reasonably water resistant bag. The armbands cannot be detached or tucked inside the bag. That is one thing I don't like as much, the floppy straps.

I really like this bag a lot.

I don't quite understand why, but I think that the name "Fish Bomb Bag" is just awesome. As far as a product goes, I have no complaints. The bag can even be looped to fit on my belt so that I have my filters and caps on me so that I won't absently remove them like I could with a bag. It is not meant to be a super high-end product and I find the stitching reflects that but it doesn't bother me. For what I paid for it, it does an excellent job. I can make any necessary touch-up stitching repairs that it needs. I highly recommend this product.

I received one of these "FishBombs" for FREE when purchasing a lens filter from Adorama through an online promotion. It is a nifty little neoprene case that is used to carry spare lens filters when shooting. I use the Fishbomb to put spare filters instead of my pocket (which prevents dust and scratches on the filter). When I'm not using it for filters, I use the Fishbomb to carry extra AA batteries for my 580EX flash or my cell phone. I've lost an iPhone at a shoot when I bent down it fell out of my pant pockets. The Fishbomb holds my cell phone very snugly. As a result, the Fishbomb is a must have for any half serious photographer on a photo shoot.

I was hoping for a pack that allowed me to carry my camera gear while being out on the trail all day. I will go out for a hike that will take me typically anywhere from 5 to 15 miles into the wilderness. I am disappointed in this pack. I did 8 miles yesterday with it for the first time.

The good. I like the design that allows me to keep my camera and lens put together and the way it is secured. I like the look in that if my tripod is not attached, it appears as a regular day pack without a few thousand dollars worth of camera equipment inside.

Doubts. Durability. Particularly with the strap clips. They are built of a thin plastic and are not your standard clips. I have doubts they will last.

Further, right now I go out with two lens while I am saving up for the 1000 dollar macro lens I want to take with me. I'm not sure where I'd put it. This is because if I put in my little point and shoot with filters and cleaning gear, one side of the storage compartments are full. The middle has camera and extra lens. On the other side are emergency supplies that all hikers should take. The space runs out. When a buddy at work first saw it, his legitimate immediate question was, where does your lunch go? The outside compartment has to fit all lunch/snacks.

Comfort. Just not sure. Feels too much like the design pulls away from your back behind you. It is my job to wear a pack all day so I understand it takes a few hikes to get it adjusted just right. But with a simple design, I shouldn't have doubts.

Things I don't like. Access is cumbersome on the top and difficult below. With the necessary lens hood on for landscapes, it is a chore to get it in and out. Below where the rest of the gear goes, the zipper opening does not provide adequate ease of access. So that there is pushing and pulling on the pack material which raises questions for long term durability.

Water. The design is poor for water carrying. It is set up for a bladder, but bladders leak. I am not going to trust a bladder next to my camera. The side pouches are not large enough for a full 32 ounce typical plastic water bottle. If you are like me and will be out all day, sometimes when it's hot, you must account for water. No room for a filter. So you have to pack two slim water bottles on the side, strap your tripod to the back bottom, and then fit another 32 ounce water bottle to the outside.

Finally, price. I bought the 53. $250. One can get a very nice top quality hiking pack for that cost. I consider that I could fit that better to my purposes. I think for what one gets, this is not a good deal.

If you want a pack that looks like a hiking pack, this is good for short walks. You're at a state park, you're wandering around for a few miles, then this will work fine. But if you're getting into the back country and want to get away and take the pictures most don't get to, I think there can be a better system and I would not recommend it.

The Pro 8 is one tough cookie. My goal in finding a great gear bag was one that could hold 2 SLR bodies and 3-4 lenses, a flash and multiple other goodies. The bag had to hold it securely, be weather resistant and have top-notch foam padding. i.e. Built to last, so my camera gear would, too! I shoot in all seasons, even winter in Minnesota. I can slip one or two of those neat little "hand heater" pads into the bag in the winter and the INSULATING qualities of the Pro 8 keep the gear warm. The opposite is true in summer or when you must leave your gear in the car during warm days. A "cool pack" in one of the spare compartments does the trick for keeping things at a reasonable temperature for hours. The detachable film bag goes right from the fridge to the Pro 8 quickly, or detaches for inspection at airports in a snap. If you have one camera body and 1-2 lenses,use the extra space for lunch! The Pro 8 is worth every penny.

I never tried a Tamrac camera bag before, and I must say that I really like this model. Nice durable construction with a padded interior to protect your camera(s) and equipment. That being said, I am a little dubious about the claim that it will fit two SLRs with lenses attached. Certainly if your lenses are fixed then it shouldn't be a problem, but if both are equipped with zooms then you may run out of room. I have a Nikon D70s, and with the 18-70mm DX kit lens attached it reaches just about to the center of the bag or slightly past it. Either way, two cameras like that would result in the lenses touching tightly at the caps. As my other camera is a Coolpix 5400 room isn't an issue, but it did factor into me giving the Pro 4 stars instead of 5. So basically, if you have one SLR and want a roomy bag with adjustable dividers and pocket space then this may be what you're looking for, otherwise you may want to look for a larger model.

I was looking for a bag that would be big enough to carry my Nikon D300, 18-200, 70-300, 28-70 and 17-35 lenses. Not to mention assorted filters, batteries, flash cards, etc. I thought, after doing quite a bit of research, that this bag would suffice. And I suppose it might, if you carefully tucked everything away in the bag and never actually tried to get at anything. Sure, the bag will hold a bunch of 'skinny' lenses (problems stuffing in my 17-35), but those lenses are buried under layers of padding velcroed in such a way that makes all but the exposed camera and attached lens readily accessible. For example, the camera and attached lens has to sit on the 'second tier' of padding in order to use the 'lens gate'. Under the body, totally hidden, might be another lens. Another problem with the body and lens sitting high up, is that the bag's center of gravity is higher up and more prone to dump out your gear. And speaking of velcro, trying to rearrange the pads is sort of like herding cats. Another problem are the storage spacesthere simply aren't enough zippered compartments to hold loose items. The front compartment is less of a pouch and more of a sleeve. The side pockets only velcro shut, good luck if it rains. And inside the top lid? Great for storing pieces of paper, that's about it. The bag comes down to personal preference. I misfired by choosing this one.

I looked long and hard before deciding on the Tamrac Pro 8. I received my bag a little over a month ago and until last night I was pretty much satisfied with it.

The division system is a bit hard to get used to but you can rearrange it since the walls are velcro. It is important to point out that with the default configuration you will be stacking lenses. The lenses on the bottom row will be covered with a velcro pad and not easily accessible. I will point out that after coming to a setup I could work with I had a nice amount of velcro debris in the bottom that I ended up vacuuming out, you will want to do the same so those buggers can't make it into your gear.

I mentioned I was more or less satisfied until last night. A trident on one of the quick snap buckles broke off. I'm more careful than most with my gear so if the bag is already breaking down with light use I'm a bit worried about the long term implications here. Tamrac has a 5 year warranty on their bags but the caveat is you must pay shipping each way and they quote at least a two week turn around. There are plenty of other snaps so I'll hold off on getting it serviced for now. It is nice to know that if it degrades any further I can have it repaired or replaced for the cost of shipping both ways.

I bought the Tamrac 5608 Pro 8 because it easily holds holds two pro sized SLR bodies (Nikon F3s with short-ish lenses and the 8 AA battery powered MD4 motor drives attached) and 4 additional lenses, but its active career in my 'photo-arsenal' was short lived.

My main gripe with this bag is with the seam used to join the bag to the main zipper (it isn't taped over and will lead to inevitable fraying and zipper jams) and the tripod holder is a complete joke (only good for the very lightest duty tripods). If you have a bunch of filters, you will need to get a wallet-style holder to hold them safely and securely.

For the price, this bag is quite the bargain as comparable products will set you back at least twice as much but in retrospect I think I should've shelled out more in the beginning. I ended up trading up to a LowePro backpack.

Within a couple weeks of purchase, I had this case as deep as 105ft of water for three consecutive days, twice a day. I probably averaged about 50ft for around for an hour per dive. Point? 6 hours of real depth with no problems and spectacular pictures that beyond surprised me from the S200 Camera. Get close to your subject, probably use the flash (I used the auto setting for the most part--and the diffuser thingy on this case) and the camera/housing will do the rest.

Never had a drop get into the housing even though I exceeded the max depth (barely) a couple of times. Follow the instructions, treat the gasket with love, and TEST IT before you subject your camera to it. They walk you through the process in the manual, and it's kinda common sense.

All of the camera controls are very easily accessible, no hint of leaks. There is not cloth bag or anything with the case, so I use a ski-goggle bag. It should also be stored OPEN so the gasket does not stay compressed for long periods of time.

If you use it, you will be happy. Everyone I was with (including a number of people that initially scoffed at the little camera) were impressed with the performance.

Oh yeah, with the camera, the whole things is a little bit negative (it sinks slowly). Not a big deal, but know you won't see it bob to the surface if you let it go.

I bought this case for a dive to the Great Barrier Reef. I was able to get photos and video with total ease using this case. The construction is really solid and you can use all of the camera's controls. I even dove to 32 meters and was worried because the case is only rated for 30 but it held up fine. Never had any leaks. Well worth the price.

I was a little uncertain about these waterproof housings for digital cameras until my boyfriend and I took it on a snorkeling adventure. WOW! The pictures came out great. On some of them you can hardly tell that they were taken underwater. The camera was still easy to operate. The slight bulkiness was sometimes cumbersome for my smaller hands, but the size of the housing is not excessive. The LCD is visible through the housing as is all of the other necessary parts of the camera.

The other great advantage of the plastic housing is that your camera can get knocked around on the boat a little. My only suggestion to Canon is to supply the wrist lanyard with a bearing tightening feature, especially for us with smaller wrists, because I was a little nervous at times of losing the camera. But that's just a minor, minor, minor not-even-a-real-complaint, and easily fixable on your own.

With the proper precautions and care, this is an excellent purchase. Especially if you love being underwater and enjoy sharing your oceanic adventures with others!

This enclosure is awesome! It seals prefectly and allows for full control of all the camera's buttons. The little flashlight dimming filter is a bit pointless but it can be easily removed. Just a tip on the side: When shooting underwater in greater depths, make sure to use an external light source as the built in flash of the camera (S230) is too weak. All-in-all, this is a great accessory to have! Too bad I haven't gotten it earlier...

I should explain about what convinced me to buy this in the first place -about a month ago, I went on a whitewater rafting trip and wanted to take pictures from the raft. Since I didn't have a waterproof camera at the time, I bought two disposable waterproof cameras. While some of the pictures came out well, I didn't enjoy the inconvenience of film (no prview / review of shots; and you had to get it developed to see the pictures) and the lack of features on a disposable camera (no zoom, no movie mode, no flash, and limited to 27 exposures).

The kicker is that I spent almost $40 for the two disposable cameras and to develop/print the pictures. As I'm planning on rafting again this year, and then taking a trip to Hawaii and go snorkling, it became clear that I needed a better underwater camera solution.

I just got my WP-DC600 a few days ago, and I'm already very happy. I regularly go hiking with my dogs on a trail with many water crossings. One of the dogs loves to swim, and I've now captured various underwater pictures and movies of him. Even if I wasn't taking underwater pictures, not having to worry about the camera getting wet has been terrific. I can allow myself to get wet now.

With a few more trips, this case would pay for itself, and it gives me much more convenience in taking/viewing the pictures.

The only drawback to this item is that it adds a significant amount of bulk to the camera to the small digital Elph. Still, the WP-DC600 is still manageable. Having use of all buttons/features on the camera is nice. The only thing you can't do while the camera is in the case is to change the CF card or battery.

BTW, the "air space" created by the WP-DC600 adds some bouancy to the camera. If you let it go in fresh water, it will sink, but slowly enough that you can catch it. I think it will stay put or even float in salt water (I haven't tried it yet, however).

Let me start by saying that my only problem with the bag has nothing to do with its quality. It is well-made, with thoughtful design.

I can fit my D300 with 16-85 lens attached in it, with room to spare for another smaller lens. There's also room for personal items, such as a pair of sunglasses, and the detachable purse eliminates the need for a separate bag, unless you have a lot of stuff.

The problem is, the bag I received does not match what is shown in the product photo. The tethered purse is not all leather as in the picture; it has red leather in the corners, but is made up of the same light material that makes up the interior of the camera bag. I can only envision a few months from now how dirty it will become. An all-leather pouch as shown in the photo would be much more durable and stain-resistant.

Also, the shoulder strap is not padded as shown in the photo, although it does have a nice suede backing where it rests on your shoulder. But padded, it's not.

I emailed Adorama's customer service department, and they basically said their hands were tied. They use the product photos that are supplied by the manufacturer (Jill.e). I can understand that.

Adorama gave me the option of returning the bag, but I thought the benefits of the bag far outweighed my disappointment. I would (and have) done business with Adorama since. Their shipping is fast and their pricing is fair.

I have to say, I am annoyed with Jill.e's customer service. I emailed them about the above concerns, and never received a response. I understand that email sometimes gets "lost", so I called their customer service line a few times during the hours that they are supposedly on-call, but always got a recording.

All-in-all, I would buy the bag again. I just wanted to make you aware of the product photo discrepancy in case those details are important to you, as they are to me.

I have one of those giant Lowepro backpack bags for storing my gear in the closet and was looking for a bag to carry my D300 and 70-200mm, a long lens on a big camera. They really should change the name of bag from small to regular or something like that because this is truly not a small bag like my Slingshot (which really doesn't fit the D300 with any lens at all).

The quality is superb. Even my husband, who could care less about bags and purses, came over to check it out and was impressed. I love the magnetic snaps and the little detachable purse. It even rivals my favorite brand, Coach. In fact, if Coach was the one selling this bag, I could easily see it selling for $400-$500. I ordered it from Green Mountain Camera through Amazon. The bag came in 2 days, perfectly packaged in recyclable materials too. All in all, I'm thrilled function and beauty, at a great price no less. What more can a girl want? I am now an official Jill.e convert.

I have to admit ... I have a thing for red leather. That's what attracted me to this bag, and I took it home to see if my gear fit, fully expecting to have to return it the next day. Boy ... was I surprised! My D300, complete with battery grip and 80 400 VR (a huge combo if ever there was one) fit perfectly, along with my brand new Tokina 12 -24, also a big lens. But the biggest surprise was when I put the 12 -24 on my D50, and manged to fit that combo into the bag as well, right along side the D300/80-400 combo.

I am very impressed. The only suggestion I would make would be to make the end pockets just a little bit fuller ... otherwise this is the perfect bag, and stylish to boot.

My husband bought me the large black rolling bag for my birthday. I loved it so much, I ordered the small leather version in "bone" that very same day. Finally an everyday camera bag / purse that doesn't look like a messenger or diaper bag! I can fit my D200 body with 50mm, SB-600, flash cards, lens caps, camera batteries, 2 cell phones, iPod, credit card case, business card case, two checkbooks, hard sunglass case, pockets full of "mommy" items, a couple of Pull-Ups and still have room to spare. The attached pouch holds my make-up and AA battery stash. The edges and dividers are well-padded to protect your gear.

When I was at Imaging USA recently I stopped by the Jill-e booth and opened my small bag to show a friend who was considering one just how much they held. Two other photographers peered over my shoulder and bought them on the spot as well -I "sold" three in under 5 minutes just by unzipping mine. After walking like a hunchback with my Crumper 7 Million for a couple of years, there just isn't enough space to type how much I adore my Jill-e bags!

The great thing about the Nikon D40 is it's smaller size compared with other DSLRs. The challenge is to find a bag that is just big enough for the essentials so you won't have to lug around a large bag for a relatively small camera. The D40 (with the kit lens) fits very nicely in the TLZ Mini longer lenses need not apply. It's impressively padded for such a small bag. The front pocket is small but large enough for me to carry what I need: currently a spare battery, lens hood, UV filter, and a small lens cleaner. If size DOES matter to you because you're trying to carry light, this bag is just the right size.

I just purchased the Nikon SB-400 Speedlight, and it tightly fits with it's own case in the front pocket of the TLZ Mini. I'm happy I don't have to buy another bag, because I still love this one.

I have a Fuji FinePix S9000 digital camera and this bag fits it perfectly. There isn't any left-over room on the interior once the camera is placed inside, but the external pocket provides plenty of additional space for extra AA batteries and memory cards. If you want a bag that isn't bulky, just large enough for your small SLR or small SLR-sized digital camera and extra batteries, this bag will do just great!

I got this for $20 from amazon along w/ the Nikon Lens brush for about $25 total and free shipping. The canon XSI w/ the kit 18-55mm IS lens fits snugly if you know how to position the camera. First, drop down the camera strap into the base of the bag (see picture #1 that I uploaded). Then put in the camera. Then Fold the strap over and rest it on top of the lcd screen. The strap will provide a second layer of cushinging for the lcd screen. The bag is the most compact one that you can get out there. The front pocket fits the charger, the nikon lens brush that I bought, and a few memory cards. Great value. Note, don't expect to fit any other lens.

I purchased this bag based on the review which states it fits a Nikon D40 with either the 18-55 kit lens or the 55-200 zoom lens. This is certainly not true, as I would have to seriously squish the camera, remove the strap and force the zipper for the case to fit the camera with my 55-200 VR lens. If you are looking for a bag that will fit both, I would bump up to the TZ 1 rather than the mini. The quality of this bag is excellent as expected from Lowepro, but unfortunately, now I'll have to purchase a second bag for when I want to use my zoom lens.

It was very had to tell the size of this case online. It is just big enough to hold the camera and a few lenses. Wish it were a little larger as I carry a spare battery and charger and mini tripod as well. I will use this for short day trip photo shoots.

I purchased this for my new Canon SX40 HS and given purple is my favorite color I was really excited to receive it. When the product arrived the color had my full attention as it is a beautiful shade of purple however when I opened the product the zipper got stuck 3/4 of the way to a full unzipped state. I checked it out and made sure it wasn't getting stuck on the material on the inside and it did not appear to be the issue so I zipped and unzipped it many times to see if it was a "wear in" issue and again that was not the issue as it only seemed to get jammed the more it was used.

When I was done messing with the zipper and decided it was a defect and would exchange it I opened the product and checked out the inside. There was NO WAY I was about to put my new Canon SX40 HS inside the flimsy material cradle for the camera. The size of the product would allude to plenty of room for equipment / attachments which is not possible the way it is made. If one were to think of this 3 dimensionally, when the product is unzipped (remember the zipper catches 3/4 of the way at full open), there is a very thin flimsy but soft material where the camera is to be cradled. When the camera is placed in this small pouch it is weighed down a lot. To place anything else in the case you must gently lift the flimsy soft material and without really seeing what you are doing there is a small space beneath the camera pouch and the bottom of the bag to put additional equipment like the battery charger, extra battery, cables, and memory card. If you have a lot of attachments like myself this is definitely NOT the product for you. If your camera is a valuable, priceless, can't do without item this product is NOT for you. Spend the extra money and buy a much more rugged, spacious, padded product with room to grow. Any camera buff or photographer will tell you additional "toys", equipment, attachments and so on is inevitable especially with the Canon SX40 HS that has so many options and many capabilities with the help of additional attachments to do many of the things a DSLR can do without the major initial expense of purchasing a DSLR camera.

Now for the seller, as the title indicates the customer service is top notch! I notified them about zipper that stuck 3/4 of the way open and they sent me a replacement at no charge and didn't require me to send in the defective product. The replacement arrived within a couple of days. The downside is the zipper on the replacement also jammed. I was going to use the replacement for a couple of point and shoot camera's that are already in hard cases but would have been easier to haul around if I could just throw the hard cases into one bag. I am not using the original or the replacement bag.

To sum up, the product is very eye appealing but not, in my opinion, suited for an expensive camera. There is no room for additional equipment, there is virtually no padding to protect your precious equipment and the zipper is defective or made poorly. The seller is great.
