I liked everything about this case, as mentioned in the other reviews. It fits my Panasonic Lumix DSC-ZS1 really well. However, after 2 and 1/2 months of almost daily use the fabric is ripping along a side seam. Given the case's cost I may buy another but I'll probably look at other brands. Also, it is not as well padded as other brands I've used for other cameras. I give it two stars because maybe it will hold up better if not used so intensely.

Considering the price, this is pretty good. My SX200 fits nicely into this bag. This is as compact as it can be, but it still aloows you to put a pare battery and memory cards.

At first, I bought the Mountainsmith Exposure II Camera Bag for my Canon PowerShot SX200 IS, but it was much too bulky and big to carry for long. So I bought the Zing case and only take it off my belt at night, it's so compact and comfortable to carry around. I like the pocket on the flap that allows me to carry an extra battery and a couple of SD cards. The construction is excellent, durable, strong and I like the velcro strap that holds it on my belt. The over flap closure makes it very quick to whip out the camera and grab a shot. If it ever wears out, and it shows no signs of doing that, I'll get another one just like it. Good buy, good value.

The case with an SX200IS camera inside fits comfortably in my pants pocket. A compartment inside the flap securely holds a spare battery (and a memory card if I needed one). There is also room for a lens/LCD cleaning cloth. It fastens easily to a belt.

I got this for my son, 6, who is using it to hold a Canon Powershot A480. The velcro strap can be completely undone to wrap around a belt loop (as well as a belt), there is plenty of room in the case for the camera, and a bit of extra room for a pair of batteries or a memory card. Fits the purpose very nicely.

I purchased this backpack bundle for an upcoming Cruise to the Caribbean with several ports of call. I needed something not too big, but big enough for all my gear and be flexible enough to be a shore excursion pack when I needed it to be.

I received it in good condition, before the delivery estimate, it was shipped promptly and packaged carefully with the other items that were purchased at the same time.

Of course, the first thing I had to do once I got it out of the box was grab my camera gear and laptop accessories and see if I could stuff it to the gills and then see how much room was left if any...

SIZE It is a pretty good sized bag it held my Nikon D90 with several lenses (one of them a 300mm), a couple of flashes, card readers, my camcorder, a small underwater camera, all the extra batteries, chargers and accessories and a laptop, its charger, wireless mouse and all of its goodies. That's a lot of stuff! I was amazed that three bags of stuff went into one backpack!

Now, of course, I didn't pack the kitchen sink or any cinder blocks and I left some of my less used accessories behind, but still, it weighs a ton... But at least I will be able to get it all on board in one bag! I plan on stripping some gear out of it for shore excursions.

POCKETS & ZIPPERS This thing has heavy duty zippers on all sides! I especially like the main lower compartment access on BOTH sides of the bag from the sides where the camera and lenses are stashed. It makes for quick and easy access to the camera and the most used accessories while cradling the rest of them inside the lower compartment, in Velcro dividers. There is access from the back panel for the center of the lower camera compartment as well with a zippered mesh pouch on the flip down access door I used for manuals, lens cleaner pens, etc. The upper compartment has little pouches on the sides inside to stash cables, battery packs, memory cards, etc. The laptop compartment puts your laptop (and notebooks, books, folders) against your back so you don't feel any lumpy camera gear inside the pack and the zippers are sort of a bitch to get to if you don't know where they are GOOD safety/security feature! Once you know where they are, it's easy.

"STASH POCKET" One pocket of note on the upper portion on one side, on the outside, with a Velcro flap, is a simple slip-in pocket it appears to be the PERFECT size for a passport and papers. Making for an easy place to stash your important papers when going through customs. (I wouldn't LEAVE it there while traveling, but it's a good size for a small wallet, cell phone, cigarettes, etc.)

PORTABILITY This bag has several handles on it, making carrying it "not as a backpack" a lot easier. I have used one of the handles on the side to attach gear bags with belt loops for outside storage. The one on top is heavy duty and handles the load I stuffed into it without any strain at all.

STABILITY When stuffed this bag likes to sit upright when you sit it down on the ground which I love. I hate for a pack to fall over because the bottom is shaped like an egg. It seems stable, even though it is sort of top-heavy from all the battery packs I have stuffed in the upper compartment with all the chargers. (that's MY packing job, not their problem...)

TRIPOD BUNDLE The tripod is light, aluminum and comes in its own rain-cover, a sock style case with a drawstring closure. It is a small and light tripod for traveling. It is so light duty I am a little worried about how it will handle a D90 with a big double battery grip, a 2x tele-converter and a 300mm lens... We shall see how it performs but it is sort of what I expected in a "bundle" like this. It will be good for my wife's small point and shoot, so I am more than happy with it. It attaches via a little leg pouch and adjustable snap strap NOT Velcro.

The ONLY thing that I think would make this bag better is some simple sewn in straps or loops for attaching other stuff to. Little straps or loops for Velcro straps to attach sunglasses cases, water bottles, straps for a monopod, etc... Much like I have seen on the "National Geographic" camera bags. Simple loops so you can roll up a windbreaker, over shirt or jacket and Velcro strap it to the loops or something. I will be making a couple of simple modifications to mine to hold things like this.

So far, I am happy with the purchase and my new bag I will have to see how it performs when we take the trip! It is exactly what I expected, it seems heavy duty enough and I look forward to using it. I stuffed it to the gills and there isn't much room left, but it sure swallowed an awful lot more than I expected! Thus allowing me to take it all in ONE bag!

*** AFTER TRIP UPDATE ***

We used this for our "shore excursion pack" it rocked! We stuffed a lot of duty free shopping stuff inside of it and had lots of room left over for cameras, snorkel and mask and other sundry items. It is a little big compared to the little bags other folks walked off of the cruise ship with but we weren't walking back to the boat with two arms loaded with bags either! We LOVED how this thing has all sorts of little nooks and crannies, zippered pouches and easy access to the inside via the side mounted zipper openings! The little passport pouch was good too! We used it for the GPS and the passports at every port. This pack made our trip easier!

I purchased this bag due to it's low profile and tie points for a monopod on the side. I'll be shooting at a crowded convention and I don't need a monopod whacking someone in the hall or elevator. I think it will be OK for this, but I can't really rave about it.

There isn't a ton of padding at the back or bottom (Actually, this is OK with me, just something to think about)

The Kata GearPack DL-100 is finally a camera bag that thinks like I do.

This is an incredibly lightweight camera bag / backpack. Compared to other camera bags I've used, this is a featherweight. As with other Kata bags, protection and padding isn't sacrificed for lightweight. They have managed to put padding exactly where it is needed.

I've struggled for a long time with my camera equipment. I have a Canon 7D, the big heavy 70-200mm f2.8 IS II lens, a fat, short and heavy 24-70mm f2.8 lens, a small video camera (a Canon Vixia), shotgun microphone, and a few accessories. The challenge has always been lens hoods and packing that camera with the 70-200mm attached. And then finding a simple way to cleanly swap lenses. This backpack is nearly perfect. It lays flat on the ground and the top flap zips open to expose all the compartments. The sides are rigid enough that equipment won't roll out of the bag when open.

The Canon 7D with the 70-200mm attached and lens hood flipped around, fits perfectly down the center compartment (a 300mm f2.8 would just fit in this bag). I am able to put the 24-70mm lens hood at the top of the center compartment. The 24-70mm fits perfectly in a side compartment. And the video camera fits perfectly on the opposite side. And my Cinevate quick-change plate (the Simplus) fits in another compartment. There are still a few small compartments for accessories. The shotgun mic fits just fine on top of the center compartment. There is enough wiggle room to change lenses. I can pop the camera and lens in and out of the slot quickly and easily.

The main body has double zippers so it is really fast and easy to get that flap open to access my gear. The top flap is opened with a single zipper. The top area is for small things, memory cards, pen, paper, and a cloth. Hard gear is not a good idea in this area. I was able to toss in two 500mL bottles of water and a paperback book. An iPad fits perfectly, although it should probably be in a case, there isn't a lot of padding in that outer compartment. A 13-inch laptop would be the largest I would put in that area, a 15 won't fit or be very well protected.

The pack is beautifully made. The armbands are wide and well padded. The back is slightly curved so it rides just right on my lower back. The loop handle on top is super strong and makes for a great carrying handle. The fabric is a rugged woven vinyl material that looks like it will wear like iron. The interior of the main and top compartment is a bright yellow. I really like that a lot. The main compartment is soft velvet felt like material that feels good. It is a pleasure to feel this material as I remove my camera.

I've kicked this backpack around. The padding is just that good around all sides of my camera equipment.

What I really like about this bag, the dividers were all in exactly the spot I needed them. I hate bags that give me a big package of Velcro dividers and then expect me to customize the interior of my bag. I'm just not creative enough to figure out the best layout. I end up putting those dividers in one way and then fight with them. No the case with this Kata bag. The two main dividers are absolutely perfect for my camera and I would expect most DSLR's. I've only had to move around the simple square compartment dividers.

The difference between the GearPack-100, -80, and -60 is pretty much length. They are essentially the same bag, except for the internal lengths: -100 = 16 inches; -80 = 13 inches; and -60 = 10 inches. The product picture with this Amazon listing shows how easy it is to pack that 70-200mm f2.8 in the center, with some space at the end; two lenses side by side, and a flash. The smaller models simply give up a little extra space at the end of the lenses.

I stood and looked at the 80 and 100 for a long time. I finally decided on the 100, for a very little more money, I got a lot more space inside the bag. I would say that the 100 is the right bag for somebody with a big wide 70-200 or 300mm. The 80 will work just fine for the 70-200, but would probably be a bit tight for the 300mm. And the 60 is for the kit lens or shorter focal length lenses.

After using this bag, I'm convinced Kata is safe with their guarantee of this being the lightest weight bag you can find with excellent padding. This is not billed as a waterproof bag, there is no weather cover built in. Looking at the zippers and how they are constructed, I would guess this is a reasonably water resistant bag. The armbands cannot be detached or tucked inside the bag. That is one thing I don't like as much, the floppy straps.

I really like this bag a lot.

I purchased this to hold my new purple colored Canon Elph 310 HS. It compliments the camera nicely even though it isn't the exact same shade, but the color is very girly and pretty. Just bought a new Coolpix 3100 and had been using an old case for a much thicker Coolpix I had several years ago. I chose this one because of the double zipper which allows the camera strap to stay centered once the camera is in the case as well as the included carbiner (sp?) clamp that allows you to lash it to anything with a loop: belt loop, purse strap, key chain. Fits this camera like a glove. Only thing I wish it had would be a small pocket for an extra SD card or something else.

Ordered a two pack of these from the manufacturer. Have to say I'm very disappointed with them and they haven't gotten any use.

First: It looks kinda silly hanging off my bag or belt. The narrow neck kinda makes it hang funny.

Most importantly, the method of attachment is onerous: you are not going to be moving this between different packs or belts. You have to thread the entire body (which is really thick) through the neck every time. It's a pain to do, and feels like it will reduce the stiffness of the neoprene.

The neck is so short, that by the time you thread it through, you have no slack. The body of the bomb can't hang freely, but feels like it's strangled. Won't be able to fit around larger belts or thicker straps.

Let's just say that I haven't lost a lens cap ever since I bought 4 of these. Before that, I have probably lost around 2 a year. I have at least two on my backpack at all times, right on the ring of the shoulder strap so I always know where my lens caps are. Besides that they can hold my CF cards. I don't use them for filters (because I don't use filters, but I could see that being a great use too). The main thing for me like I mentioned is the caps. These things have already paid for themselves!

I own two of these Fishbombs. I attach one to my waist pack and the other around my belt. In one, I usually carry two 77mm filters on hikes and city walks. In the other I carry my lens caps so I always know where they are. They're super light and they give me quick access. It's pretty much a detachable pocket. Would not recommend for filters larger than 77mm, however. They are simply too snug and you have to get fingerprints on your filters in order to get it out. Anything under 77mm is great though.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I like that this has plenty of storage as well as some soft, removable internal storage walls that can be reconfigured the way that you need. This bag should safely carry your camera with the high powered lens along with a good-sized laptop, as well as some odds and ends. I do like the waterproof cover that is lightweight and stretches on. Though it's only held in place by a stretchy band, it appears to stay on well.

Unfortunately, the overall construction of this backpack is cheaper than I expected, especially for the price. I own a regular laptop backpack that wasn't too much money, but the quality puts this one to shame. The arms on this feel MUCH cheaper. The mesh on this Case Logic is similar to another backpack I bought years ago that unraveled/shredded over time with minimal use.

Then there's the zippers...except for the laptop compartment, these also feel cheap. They catch almost every time I try to open them, to the point where I keep wondering when they'll break. I also own a Case Logic storage bag I use for my portable DVD player. It was bought years ago. Though the zipper is small, that one is built to last, and has never caught despite my children roughly zipping it open and shut. It was a tiny fraction of this price. Clearly, things have changed over time.

The waist clip is big (great), yet the chest clip is a bit smaller than I'm used to. Additionally, it can easily come apart (like it did with us, since top clip straps are not sewn to bag, but TIED. Getting one back on is harder than when it falls off (took a little while to get it back on securely, yet it just popped off after undoing a clip and straightening out the strap).

The bottom clips have a metal part that seems to be a good replacement for a single moulded plastic part. Yet, these giant partial paperclip-looking things move within the holes when any pressure is applied to piece. Therefore, it appears that these are merely bent and inserted into the holes on the plastic and that's it-not an ideal hinge that inspires great confidence in the overall strength in such a critical area of the bag.

Overall, I like the storage and rain cover and relative comfort when wearing, but I wish this was made durable enough to last.

2. 9.6 x 8.1 x 16.5 inches sounds much smaller than it actually is. This bag is pretty big, but then of course it holds lots of stuff. Too big for everyday toting, but fine for photo shoots.

3. No compartment on strap for cell phone not essential, but really handy

4. One external strap can possibly hold a tripod, but not very securely.

5. No water bottle pocket, but I guess you can attach one with a carabiner

6. Nice canvas zipper pulls, but I can see the pull tab breaking off from the slider, as that part is pretty thin. I wouldn't recommend grabbing the bag by the zipper pulls (if that's all you can reach without getting up.)

This is now the biggest camera bag of the three that I own, and probably the one I will be using for travel in the future.

It's a little heavy, but that's necessary to make sure everything is well padded and kept safe. It's sturdy, and it snaps closed on the front, so it can't slip off, which is great! You can put it on and forget about it.

It has separate compartments for your laptop (up to 15.6 inches), your camera, your lenses, your tripod, and other stuff. It has zips and pockets everywhere. There's even a pocket that's perfect for storing your SD cards. And it comes with a waterproof cover. Seriously, they've thought of everything.

It is a little pricey, but it's worth it. You're not going to find a better digital SLR and laptop backpack anywhere. Highly recommended.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program When I had a film Canon SLR, I would have died for a bag like this to hold both the camera and lenses (I had four lenses total) and the laptop computer I didn't have at the time. Even now with my slightly less cumbersome carrying needs, I still find it difficult to find a bag that will hold everything I need to take with me on a trip.

I take a traditional point-and-shoot with a larger fixed lens, a smaller point-and-shoot, a digital camcorder, smart phone, laptop, batteries, cables, etc. and end up walking through the airport with an aching shoulder because I could only find the worst of tote bags that would hold everything and still go through as a carry-on.

With this bag I can secure my larger camera in the main camera compartment and place my smaller camera, camcorder, and other accessories on the "shelves" intended for lenses. I also love the additional padding in the laptop storage space and feel like I could fit my laptop and e-reader in there for travel.

I'm a shortie and smaller and liked how I could adjust these straps for a snug and bounce-free fit. it is sometimes hard to get an "adult" product that will work with odd heights, so I consider anything that does a keeper.

In short, this bag is a slice of heaven on earth for those of us who like "a place for everything and everything in its place." It should easily suit those with DSLR camera carrying needs as well as those of us with a hodgepodge of lesser digital camera and media equipment. I wish I would have had this when I traveled to a blogging convention in mid-2012 -it would have saved my shoulder and made the experience more fun as I could have whipped out my camera in a flash (side access) to take a picture then secured as needed for general hopping. Live and learn.

I wanted a VERY COMPACT camera case that was also sturdy and protective. I have a Canon G12 and it fits perfectly. There is no room for accessories or extra batteries mind youbut that wasn't one of my must-haves anyway. I do not regret this purchase at all.

Up till now, I've tended to carry filters around in the little plastic cases they're usually sold with, but after not being able to find the filter I wanted for the Nth time, I decided to buy an organizer. This one holds up to four filters of varying sizes (up to 77mm) in a convenient flip-open pouch.

What I like:

easy to carry up to four filters in one pouch

gentle on my expensive filters due to lots of padding

connects to my camera backpack either via velcro or using one of the attachment straps

secure storage...filters don't fall out

What I don't like:

a little too bulky, especially if you have tons of filters and you use many of the pouches

would have liked capacity beyond four filters

could use a way to label the contents (for instance, I can't tell my ND 4x from my polarizer by looking)

larger filters can be difficult to get in and out of the pouch

Overall, this is a good product and worth the price.

Doesn't double the size of your camera. Nicely finished. Wouldn't fit anything bigger than a Kodak M753.

I got this case because the internal dimensions fit my camera perfectly. What I failed to realize is that the external dimensions are bigger. Generally external dimensions account for like the padding of the case and the material, but for this case, the external height dimension is just air. So when the case closed, I ended up having this gap of air on top which I didn't like. I couldn't fit the case around my camera since the magnetic clasp is a one setting type of clasp. Some other cases have velcro so you can make it tighter.

I also didn't like it that the sides aren't really covered. So it's a lot easier to get lint and pocket crap on your camera. I ended up returning this case and getting the Lowepro Napoli 5. I would definitely invest the few extra dollars for one of the Napoli cases.

The one thing I do say that is nice about this case (if it fit your camera well) is that it has some nice straps if you want to wear it around your neck.

This is a nice little case, which protects the camera very well. It has a zipper, which was well sewn in and works smoothly. The camera fits snuggly, and the little pocket fits an SD card. Since the camera has a rechargeable battery, there is no room in the case for an extra battery. There is no place for the recharging cord in this case. That probably isn't an issue since I wouldn't normally carry the cord with the camera on an outing, but it would be nice to have a little pocket that could clip on to it so that the cord would be kept with the camera when you aren't using it.
