I bought this camera bag mainly because it is really well-priced for the quality. Of course, it's Lowepro, so you KNOW it's good, but it's really, surprisingly well-padded. As soon as I put my camera in and zipped it closed for the first time, I could just feel how safe it was... and after accidentally dropping the bag a few times, I know that it is indeed safe.

I love the zipper + clasp-close that it has in order to protect from rain. I think that, along with the really well-made padding, is my favorite feature of the bag. For me, it fit a Nikon D40 with a 35mm lens attached, an 18-55mm lens on the left side, and a lens hood on the ride. Also, it has room for extra memory cards in the front.

The strap is extremely versatile -I love that it's long enough that I can wear it slung across my body and have it resting near my hip or a little lower (I'm 5'9"). I think it would work perfectly on someone much shorter or taller than me, also.

Now, I don't care for the color of the internal padding. It's such a silly thing to say or let affect my opinion, but it's true. It's sort of a burnt orange color... I don't much care for it. I know it's a small bag and would be great for traveling if you don't need more than the lens you have attached and maybe one extra, but it is a *really* snug fit with those lenses. I think this is purely an "I'll only be taking photos for a few hours" bag, and that's perfectly okay. In fact, I'm sure I'll be using this even after I get my new Lowepro Passport bag for whenever I go on-location to shoot. However, I still feel that the size should have been expanded just a bit so I don't feel like I might damage something by trying to fit my camera in the bag.

Over all, I would definitely recommend this bag to anyone who needs just an inexpensive bag to carry a small amount of equipment in. Just be sure you're aware of the size; it's not a bag meant for multiple lenses, really.

I bought this bag to replace the "USA Gear dSLR ZOOM Holster for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras" bag. And I am sooo glad that I did!

In contrast, the Lowe Pro Adventura is sleeker and more comfortable than the bulky, boxey, square USA Gear bag. Although it is smaller, it holds everything that the USA Gear bag could. And the shoulder strap's non-slip surface is HUGE because the USA Gear's shoulder strap kept slipping off my shoulder. Thus far, I am super happy with the Lowe Pro Adventura and super satisfied!

Great Features:

1) Sleek, comfortable, and nice to look at.

2) Room for my Nikon D90 with 50mm prime lens and an extra 18-200mm lens.

3) Side pockets hold an extra battery and my Canon S90 digital consumer camera (my backup for fast snapshots).

4) Front pocket holds extra memory cards and other extras.

5) Quick access via one plastic latch (I prefer this over a zipper).

6) Zipper enclosure in case you want the extra protection.

7) Great craftmanship in the bag's materials.

I kinda regretted that I didn't get the bigger Adventura 170 but on more careful examination, I like the fact that the 140 has a pocket in the back for a passport. The 170 has a belt strap instead.

I read many reviews saying this wasn't big enough for a DSLR. I have a Canon T3i with the optional 18-135 lens. It is longer than the standard 18-55. It fits in this case just perfectly, with the lens ON. That was huge for me. I didn't want to waste time switching out different size lenses, so I bought an extended size lens & love it. Very quick to pull the camera out & shoot. Just enough extra space in the front pocket, side pockets & 2 interior pockets (either side of the lens) to stash random things (extra batteries, cables, whatever! Very well padded case & nice orange lining inside.

I recently bought a Sony NEX-5N with the standard 18-55mm lens along with the 55-210mm and had a difficult time finding a bag that was large enough to include all the lenses and accessories (the charger, spare battery, USB reader etc), without being cavernous. Luckily I happened across the Adventura 140. The bag is well made, the zippers feel strong and not likely to break after a number of unzips, the stitching on the handle attachment is strong and secure. They include two Velcro dividers that you can reposition for your specific rig. I can configure the bag so the camera w/ 18-55 attached is on one end, the 55-210 is in the middle, and the battery charger is on the other end with a nice snug fit for everything. The zippered pouch holds my extras like a few cables and my SD to USB drive, and the outer elastic pockets hold my spare battery and flash module for the NEX. The bag is tall, so you can also fit a pouch of filters on top of the camera/lens section as well.

I'm very happy with the purchase, and if you have a mirror-less camera like the NEX you will be able to fit quite a bit in the bag, if you have a consumer sized DSLR you could probably fit that with a short lens and a longer lens to the side, nice for small outing when you don't want to lug around 50 lbs. of lenses in your backpack.

I ended up purchasing this Canon 100DG gadget bag because the Canon bag that I originally wanted was back ordered. This bag showed to be larger and a little more expensive than the bag that I originally wanted to order. I am definately glad that I went with the 100DG bag instead.

This bag is very high quality, with metal clips, a strong, padded shoulder strap, and it offers a lot of padding and compartment separators. Inside is a small, padded zippered case, which holds a couple of CDs, several memory cards, and maybe even some other very small items. There is a slot for a small laptop computer. The laptop would need to be quite small though. It is large enough to hold my HP tablet PC but would not hold a much larger notebook PC. This Canon gadget bag even has straps on the outside to hold a monopod or small tripod.

At first I was a little dissapointed with the internal storage of the Canon 100DG. Upon opening it the bag just didn't seem very big inside, even though the outside looks gigantic. However, I have packed this case with all of the following:

As you can see, I have packed this case with my Canon EOS 40D digital SLR camera, three lenses w/hoods and soft lens cases, my Canon 580EX flash, my wife's Sony Cybershot point and shoot digital camera, our family Panasonic MiniDV video camcorder, my HP tablet PC, and even my Bogen monopod and ball head. All this and much more smaller stuff. This case can hold a whole lotta stuff! You should know, this camera bag is now quite heavy. However, the bag and carry strap show no signs of fatigue. I would not want to bang this camera bag up against something hard, because I have it bulging with all of my gear. I am very careful when traveling with this kit, but it is very nice to have all of my photo and video gear in one big gadget bag. I couldn't be happier with the Canon 100DG and I highly recommend to anyone looking for a high quality, high capacity camera bag. I know that many people spend a lot of money on their photo and video gear and then scrimp on their camera case. Spend a few extra bucks and get a case that is worthy to hold all of your expensive gear. You can't go wrong with the Canon 100DG!

This bag covers all of my needs; plenty of room for my camera, lenses and accessories AND a special slot for my Macbook . It's the only bag (that I am aware) that offers the padded laptop slot. It is a great looking bag too. The fabric is easily cleanable. Though it is a pretty large bag for my 5'2" frame, the padded shoulder strap makes it comfortable to tote. I am SO happy I bought this bag! It is highy recommended by me.

As a 40 year+ pro I carry both Nikon & Canon systems. For a day bag, the Canon 100DG is both practical & economical. My daily point & shoot is a Canon 50D with BG-E2N grip, 28-135mm and EW-78BII hood installed. If you carry into a high end social for a shoot or need a decent day use bag this case should serve you well. Without sacrificing protection I carry the aboveforementioned items plus a 550EX speedlite with aux battery pack, 75-300 IS, 11-22 zoom, 85mm plus filters. I carry my tablet computer in a separate bag.

I can fit a 6x7 Mamiya RZ67 with digital back plus two film backs and light meter in the bag with no problem. Lots of room for meters, phones and extra batteries. An accessory pack is included to organize cards and filters which has lots of velcro.

I own a number of case/bags, but a photographer with a digital slr, strobe and an auxillary lense should not consider a case any smaller than the 100DG. If you are conerned with the Canon logo on the bag being an identifier for theft, might I suggest sewing a luggage tag with your business card over it (a nice marketing idea). Insure your gear.

I purchased the bag with my digital rebel XT about six months ago. It's extremely well built, well padded with movable internal partitions. Enough roon to hold four lenses, a camera body, cleaning kit, spare battery and some filters. With all due respect to Alan, canon has never advertised this bag for carrying laptop computers, so the one flaw he found with the bag really doesn't exist.

The bag feels pretty well constructed with good materials, and it has a decent amount of padding. It includes a rain-cover that tucks into a hidden compartment on the bottom of the bag when not in use.This is one of only a few bags I've seen that has any kind of molle type attachment straps. The detachable shoulder strap is also pretty handy. On the downside my Nikon D5100 w/ 18-55mm lens is a tight fit (depth-wise) and the molle straps aren't as sturdy as they could be (they don't fully interlock with both bags).

After a week of using a case that was too large for the Sony HX1, I finally broke down and purchased this case. I'm happy to say this is very close to being the perfect carry around case for me. I wanted something that could protect the camera while the strap is either around my neck or shoulder, but also let me access the camera quickly so I can take some shots right away. This case does that. Here are my pros and cons after carrying it around a few days:

Pros

Nice hard shell with a leather-like soft skin (real leather? Not sure)

Clam shell design with magnets that keep lid closed make it easy to access the camera

I like using the neck strap to carry the camera around instead of a separate bag strap

Fits the HX1 perfectly (it should since its specifically made for it)

Very elegant looking

Battery pouch is a nice touch

A loop secures the case to your neck strap so it won't fall when you whip out the camera for action shots

Cons

I wish there was another pocket to carry extra memory cards

The belt loop is okay, but neither of the ends can be detached. Belt loops are so much handier when you can just snap it around your belt and then snap it off without having to take off your belt

There is no space for anything other than your camera so you'll need something else to store your battery charger and cables

The instructions that come with the case recommend you use this case with the neck strap over one shoulder. The neck strap that comes with the HX1 is a bit short to make that perfectly comfortable for me, but luckily I had already bought a larger OP/Tech neck strap that lets the case hang at the perfect level for me to grab quickly. You can certainly still use the case with the camera around your neck if that is your preference.

I'm very happy with this case. It makes me want to take the HX1 to even more places.

The case is made for this camera but the two problems I see are that it is very bulky and difficult to get the camera in and out quickly, and the second is the small strap that you snap around the shoulder strap to hold the case to the camera (which is only good if you are going to carry the camera around and not use it as much, storage to traveling). This little strap almost caused me to drop the camera a few times because I was quickly taking the camera out to take a pictures and I forgot the strap was attached and it was dangling off the shoulder strap and it is quite heavy and awkward. Overall it's a great case to protect the camera with, I just which the design was better.

This is a good quality case if you're simply using it to store your camera while not in use. I returned it because it cannot fit the camera and the neck strap without interfering with the lid closing right the little magnet they have embedded in the case isn't strong enough if anything inside is putting resistance on it closing.

I took this case with me for my HX1 to Hawaii this summer and it worked great. Yes it does not carry anything extra other than the camera, but if you're the type to keep the strap around your neck then you shouldn't have any issues with this case. If you hook the strap up to the loop you can take your camera out of the case for quick use easily w/o dropping the case. The belt loop case for an extra battery is great if you plan on going through the camera supplied battery in a day or dont' have anywhere to recharge but its not really necessary for the casual amateur who can recharge overnight. I gave it four stars instead of 5 though b/c on occaision the case can get in the way if you are rushing a shot or you are using the camera supplied strap over your shoulder instead of neck. Its not the most convienent case sometimes but it gets the job done.

The case is fine and does what it's supposed to do; protect the camera. The directions suggest looping the camera's neck strap through it. Therefore, it's a bit awkward to have the case hanging on your neck strap, but also see the logic...you do not run the risk of dropping it. Having the attached spare battery attachment is great. There is NO room for anything else in the case. The camera fit is "snug" and is somewhat difficult getting the camera out of it quickly. It's a good investment to protect your Sony DSC-HX1.

It's exactly what I was looking for... a smaller more stylish bag to use when on the go. I get tired of carrying around my large back-pack style Canon bag for everything. It holds basically just the camera body and lens and some cards and charger and that is it. Which is what I wanted and expected from the reviews.

However the picture shows a nice matching leather strap, but it comes with a light beige boring canvas strap that doesn't match the bag... The point is... It's not what is shown or advertised here at all. I am now shopping for a vintage strap of some kind to replace it.... It would have been 5 stars if it was more honest.

I had been looking for a stylish camera bag for months when i came across this one. Most other bags I came found were pricey, too frilly, tacky and honestly pretty cheap looking. This bag on the other hand is great. It has a nice vintage appeal (kind of looks like a vintage binoculars case), and the PVC material is durable but not cheap looking. I can fit my Canon T3I with an attached lens and an extra lens perfectly and still have room for purse essentials (wallet, phone, etc...). I'm a hobby photographer, nothing too serious, some event photography, and this bag is perfect for me.

I decided to go with this bag as it seemed petite and stylish for a girl like me (I'm one of those people who only feel comfortable wearing neutrals!). I already have a huge DSLR and carry that in the usual black camera bag. This time,I wanted something more lightweight in feel and appearance. I'm able to fit my Sony NEX 5n (with 18-55mm lens and lens hood attached) and on the bottom of it I have my ultra wide converter lens in its hard case. On another compartment,I have my 55-210mm lens with hood attached. The next compartment,I have my macro lens,its converter lens in its hard case and my wide angle lens. On the side pockets I can store an extra battery with the charger and filters in its case on the other pocket. On the back pocket,I can fit a mini tripod in its own pouch. There's also a space between the inside pouch,front and back part of the compartments. I can store the USB plug in it and some SD cards. I wanted to share that on my review as I myself had to wonder which of these bags could fit everything I had. I want to carry my lenses altogether. I figured this bag was worth a try as my camera,even with all the lenses I have,would fit my stuff perfectly. Of course,the compartments are separated with Velcro,so it gives me more space to situate the camera even better. I like how the flap on top keeps nice and flat. Everything is straight,does not bulge. I'm OCD about things being "perfect". I actually like the beige canvas strap better than the cheap pleather strap that the model bag has. I figured that strap would hurt after a while,looks hard. This bag doesn't look cheap,the beige strap gives it a nice contrast. I don't know how much you could fit in it if you have a big DSLR,I haven't tried putting my big bulky one in it. But,I feel great with this bag! I love it! By the way,the inside is actually a dark brown velvet like material. It's ultra plush,love it. Not cheap looking like the model bag,again. I think this bag can be worn by a man or woman,it's fantastic. Has a vintage look,but very brand new in design. I like how I will be able to take my camera bag with me anywhere without looking too serious...an undercover tourist! Love this bag!
