This case fits my Canon A1000IS like a glove, but it's not bulky, even though it's very sturdy and well-made. No storage, but I bought it for my "little" camera that fits in my coat pocket, no attachments or extra lenses, and don't need extra storage. The bigger camera gets a bigger case with storage. I can't believe how well-made this is for such a small amount of money.

Note: this is not a "hard" case as in metal or hard plastic. It's a sturdy, nicely-padded hard "soft" case, if that makes sense. You can't fold or squish it like a regular soft case, it's stiff, but it's not padded metal that's what you're looking for. I had one like that once for another camera, that's why I mention it.

Nice case IF you do not want/need a belt loop. There is no way to carry this case unless you strap it around your neck or have suitably baggy pants that allow you to store the case in your pants pockets. The case will not fit into regular Levis pockets.

I am not sure how or why this case was so inexpensive but I'm just happy I purchased it. It was for my mom and the new camera I got her for Christmas.

This is a great little case for the price. The camera fits inside snugly and there are no pockets or anything inside for extra batteries or cards, but it is a very sturdy little case. The zipper is easy to use and seems to be very sturdy. Cannot beat the value of this.

I bought a pack of these sleeves to use when shooting outdoor sports in the rain. I'm not a pro photographer and couldn't justify the expense of the superior Aquatech rain gear. I needed something small and light that fits in my camera backpack and keeps me shooting during poor weather conditions I occasionally encounter.

If you do a lot of shooting in questionable weather and can justify the $200 cost, the Aquatech is obviously a better solution. But for $6, the Op/Tech sleeves are hard to beat in a pinch, particularly for casual photographers.

The sleeves are large enough to cover most all but the largest of the pro telephoto lenses. It fits my D300 with battery pack and 70-200 2.8 with room to spare. The sleeve has a hole in the rear just remove your eyepiece cover, stretch the hole over the eyepiece, and replace the cover to hold it in place. The sleeve has a drawstring closure in front that holds very securely to the lens hood. The plastic is transparent and thin enough to allow operation of all the controls right through the sleeve (vs, sliding your hands up inside). It's a very usable solution, although it does make adjusting the zoom a bit more difficult. But again, this is intended to be more of an emergency or occasional rain solution.

I've spent endless hours shooting football games in the rain and the protection provided is excellent. As long as you don't poke a hole in it, your equipment will stay dry. I'm able to reuse them multiple times.

Pros: Very low cost, stores anywhere, excellent protection, low tech ease of use, able to see all of the camera's controls, works with tripods and monopods.

Cons: Takes a few minutes to put on and get adjusted, makes accessing some controls a little awkward (but not impossible), far too long for short lenses.

Bottom line: Excellent emergency protection during occasional bad weather for cameras with larger lenses. Those using smaller lenses should look for another solution.

Works well to protect the camera from rain. Had to use this a couple times on my recent trip to Alaska. My only problem is it takes some time to get this thing on the camera properly, once it's on it's difficult to manipulate the lens zoom. Also if you're using a shorter lens then this thing is pretty much pointless since there's too much excess sleeve and nowhere to put it. The product itself is a high quality plastic too, not cheap like a grocery store bag.

Small and compact, folded up tiny and shoved it in my backpack, acted as extra padding for my lenses. :)

It worked great with the Canon 40d and Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS lens.

It worked good with the 40d and Canon 17-40mm f/4.0L.

I gave up trying with my 40d and Canon 50mm f/1.8.

I purchased this item thinking it was a good idea to have packed with camera accessories "just in case". I knew I was traveling to Europe on business and would have some free time to take some shots of local flavor. Upon taking a road trip to Salzburg, we encountered rain that turned to sleet that turned to snow. Salzburg was a wet, snowy photo op against the backdrop of cathedrals, snow capped mountains, and the location for scenes from the "Sound of Music". No umbrella no cover. But I had a rain sleeve! It worked perfectly (except for some random drops on the lens, which was protected by a UV filter anyway, so no damage. I may have looked a little funny, but I think I captured more shots in the wet weather than anyone who had to hide their pocket digitals under their coats. And those brave enough to shoot with SLRs had to juggle umbrellas (which didn't look like much fun). Also was able to shoot some great street shots without the worry of wetness (or exposure to the unsuspecting subjects). I was glad to have this. I will order more. Hey, you never know...

Honest reviews on OP/TECH USA Rainsleeve - 18-Inch (2-Pack)

I have a Canon 5D Mark II which is prone to water damage so bought this rain cover because it always seems to rain when I go to the Renaissance Festival.

Well, its raining today off and on and I'm going anyway, so I opened the packaging and pulled one of the two out. It's kind of like a plastic bag shaped to go over your camera and lens. I slipped off my eye piece protector and pulled the bag over my Canon 135mm F/2 L lens and placed the opening around the eye piece and slipped the protector on then pulled the cord tight around the lens end. It's got a nice little slip cord release button that makes resizing a breeze.

Bingo, instance emergency weather protection. But I get it on and start using it and right away there are two problems, one the slip cord end over the lens hood keeps slipping back towards the camera, I ended up using some gaphers tape to hold it to the hood. The other problem is you lose the use of your neck strap since it is hanging out the end. You really don't realize how much you use your neck strap until you can't use it. Still I'm out in effiy weather with ominous looking dark clouds and I feel safer then without it. Ok now it's starting to rain and my fingers are really getting wet so I have taken leaving my hand inside the cover on the camera at all times which is easy to do since taking it in and out of the camera bag is a pain anyway and the bag is getting wet. Still I'm out in the rain and taking photos and no problems so far with my 5D Mark II.

Pros:

Easy on and easy off

Very good price point

You get two with each order!

Keeps your camera and lens dry

Cons:

Lens end keeps slipping back down barrel of lens

No place or hole for neck strap so you have to carry camera entire time.

Conclusion:

Get a pack just in case but don't rely on this as your primary weather protection.

While obviously far from a U/W housing, for a couple of dollars, this little glorified plastic bag does a really good job! The cinch around the lens opening works well, and accommodates a 70-200F4 on a Canon 40D with plenty of room to spare.

If one is careful to not tear the opening designed for the eyepiece, this device can be used many times, although this is the apparent weak spot, so be gentle putting this on and taking it off.

I have used this in a pretty bad rain storm, and it kept the camera and lens body dry, although conditions got so bad, I couldn't keep water off the lens face, and gave up.

Could you make this with a giant zip lock and a rubber band? Sure, but for the low cost to buy these, I have one in each of my camera bags just in case.

Reviews of Skin, Clear Silicon Skin for LS-10

Skin, Clear Silicon Skin for LS-10
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

As a silicone cover, this item is pretty much as advertised.

It's a cleanly molded, milky-clear silicone case that fits fairly well over the Olympus LS10. There are cuts for the two built-in mics, the SD/line out ports, the volume knob, recording level knob, mic input, line input, remote control, and the DC in line.

The front controls are molded into the silicone case which makes pressing the buttons easier than without the case.

No directions come with the cover, which leaves you with a bit of a mystery regarding how to put the LS10 into the cover. I put the LS10 into the case through the LCD window, then pulled the rest of the cover over the microphones.

As other reviewers have stated, the real weakness of this case is that the power/keylock slider as well as the low-cut and mic amp sliders are covered by silicone on the case. The silicone is molded in such a way as to allow these sliders to be actuated using your fingers, but not without quite a bit of effort.

You might want to think about taking an x-acto knife to the slider areas yourself. Just remember to remove the LS10 from the case before doing so!!

Works great to protect the case and still allow use of most controls. Cover is not very thick, so extent of shock or drop protection is uncertain. Obviously not intended for drop protection, but clearly better than exposed case.

Only issue is access to the "on/off" switch. Since this switch is a slide switch that must be held for an extended period to power down, it is difficult to manipulate through the silicon. Moving the slide requires using fingernail which feels like risk to pierce the cover. Other controls work well. Offers no protection to the screen, which is obviously the most vulnerable portion of the unit, so judge utility accordingly. Uncovered screen offers good visibility, but unprotected.

Last month I recorded an outdoor concert on the first cold night of the year. It was 40 degrees warmer earlier in the day, needless to say no one was comfortable. I didn't bring a tripod to mount my LS 11 so I was stuck holding my recorder over my head, in the cold for over two hours. After an hour or so 10 min. was about as long as I was comfortable holding an arm up without readjusting. The recording should have been horrible, all full of thuds bumps and pops from bouncing the recorder from hand to hand and constantly readjusting my sore arms in the cold. To my surprise, when I listened to the recording there was no case noise from all the jostling. If I had only brought an extra skin to put over the drunk girl next to me!

Honest reviews on Skin, Clear Silicon Skin for LS-10

This product works as advertised and provides some good protection for my LS-11. I use the LS-11 primarily outdoors for recording wildlife sounds so it needed some protection from rain and being dropped.

This skin is great and easy to put on, however there are a few quirks.

The skin does makes it a bit difficult to access the gain and volume wheels.

As mentioned by others, the skin does completely cover up the POWER/HOLD,LOW CUT, and MIC SENSE switches. However, it is a simple matter to cut away small access panels in the silicon for these switches without affecting the integrity of the cover. So that is an easy fix. And because you get to choose which panels get cut, you could leave the LOW CUT or MIC SENSE switches covered if you always leave this in the same position to allow easy switching in the dark (which I do a lot).

Another slight quirk is that the foam microphone windshields don't stay on my LS-11 as well now that the cover is fitted. They don't fall off easily, just are brushed off a bit more easily than before.

You do have to remove the cover to change the batteries. It is easy to get on and off as it is very flexible, but it is a little bit annoying if you are out in the field recording.

In spite of these quirks, this skin is a great way to protect your recorder, particularly if you use it outside. A quick tweak with a pair of sharp scissors and it is fully functional.

I recommend it to anyone with the LS-10 or LS-11.

Great little case with a 'SONY' flag on it. No big deal to ME, but was advertised as a SAMSUNG case. Could be used for anything; fits my iPod well. Thinner than I expected. The Pro Trekker 600 AW is a outstanding product. From the structure of the pack to all it's fundamentals, this pack will get you where you need to go. For years I have been searching for the "perfect pack" as many as you surly have, and I have spend some money creating custom bags to suit my needs doing photo backpacking trips and events. I researched this bag very carefully and really studied all the features Lowepro created. The outside material holds up amazing in extreme weather conditions which include rain, snow and sand.

The outside pouches hold plenty or accessories and small item equipment like keys, wallets, phones ect.. and have plenty of room for your tripods. The inside space is amazing. Inside my pack I carry:

Canon 1D Mark III

Canon 1D Mark IV

Canon 70-200mm f/2.8

Canon 50mm f/1.2

Canon 16-35 f/2.8

Canon 15mm f/2.8 fisheye

Canon 580ex Flash

Canon 580exII Flash

Garry Fong Diffuser

Small Cap Diffuser

Flashlight

Camelback Blatter

10 various filters

Memory Cards

Flashcords and other corded accessories

15" MacbookPro

Gitzo Tripod

____________________________________

This bag still has plenty of room for food, extra clothing and supplies! The 600 AW is rather large and bulky but when you put it on your back the comfort is a 10 out of 10! Extremely comfortable! I have taken this pack with me on multiple trips; hiking, climbing, on long motocross trail rides, you name it. The support you get from this pack is awesome! I found this link to the product video which really helped me decide to go ahead and purchase this. Check out

I hope my "2 cents" mattered and you get the most out of this product as I did. Thank you Lowepro!

Big, sturdy, holds all my photography stuff, with lots of room for water, food and some extra clothing for the way.

Caught in rain, hail or snowthere's a cover. Great seams work keeps all the gear nice and dry.

Only drawback is that with 3 sleeves for tripod, none fits my Manfroto tripod. Cannot insert all 3 legs inside any sleeve.

Having to buy a new tripod to fit my backpack seems ridiculous idea.

Review of Samsonite Journey Model Large Camera Pouch

Samsonite Journey Model Large Camera Pouch
Customer Ratings: 4 stars

From the description, I wasn't sure how big this camera bag would be. I already have a Samsonite bag which I am very happy with, but needed a larger one for my new camera. It was, luckily, the larger size and I am very happy with it holding my Canon PowerShot D10. The bag is a very durable nylon material with good zippers. The detachable adjustable strap I use more in a belt / fanny pack style. The pockets are adequate for extra battery, charging unit, and memory cards.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

Large is a relative term, but this case fits my Canon PowerShot A720 with considerable room left over, though not much more room for depth. It also holds several AA batteries and the charger for them. Several small zippered and mesh pockets provide a place for extra flash cards and a lens cloth. I expect this case will work for cameras of a size similar to the A720, which is slightly wider/taller than a deck of cards and about twice as thick.

I liked this bag enough to also use it for our DeLorme Earthmate handheld GPS. The unit and extra batteries/memory cards fit well. For a GPS, a strap better oriented for attaching to a backpack would be nice, but since the case was not designed for this use, I can't complain. I use a carabiner to attach it to a D-ring on my backpack strap and use the velcro strap on the back of the case to secure it so it does not swing around while walking.

Construction quality is good with a few stray threads, but at this price I was not expecting perfection. After 1.5 years of hard use, all the zippers still work well and it continues to look good. A color choice other than black would be nice.

Best Deals for Samsonite Journey Model Large Camera Pouch

This was a replacement for the camera pouch I already had. I thought it would be exact, but the new one was larger so I could fit the battery charger, cables, and extra memory cards in it with extra room to spare.

Not pleased with his product. It says "LARGE camera pouch" but even a medium camera (Panasonic DMZ 18) will not fit into it.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Please take a look at images I uploaded to the product page on this well-made case that offers superior protection against bumps and drops. This case will accommodate cameras measuring (L)3 5/8 by (H)2 1/2 by (D)1 1/8 inches in dimensions. The best design full length zipper opening with elastic hinge supports (so that the two halves won't open too wide when you unzip the case).

The camera should be inserted into the case with its LCD screen facing the plush fabric surface half. The front of the camera will then face the other half of the case that has the super-tough EVA shell to protect against crush and drop.

I STRONGLY suggest that you tether the wrist strap of the camera to the ringlet on the case, so that they are always together. When taking pictures, while holding the camera with your right hand, you should hold the case with your left hand. If someone accidentally bumps into you and causes you to drop the camera, it won't fall to the ground because the case is tied to the camera. I had saved my camera from destruction numerous times this way.

I like this case very much because it offers great protection without the bulk of other cases. If your camera is the same or smaller than the aforementioned dimensions, this is an excellent case to consider.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

We ordered this case with the intention to use it with my HTC HD2 phone, paying special attention to the dimensions advertised in the product description, which would have certainly accommodated my phone. We discovered when the product arrived that the actual product dimensions are dramatically smaller: (internal) 4.25 inches x 3.25 inches. Possibly 1/4 inch could be squeaked out of this case in length and width if one is willing to stress the zipper. It turns out that the dimensions given were including the cardboard packaging attached with the product.

Apart from this very frustrating point, the case itself is remarkable. We own several cases from Case Logic, and we are very happy with the lot of them. This particular case would exceed our expectations in many regards. The main compartment is lined on the belt-clip side with a material that is very soft and it resembles fleece (though I assume it is a material which does not build up a charge). It should be noted that the belt-clip side is not rigid.

The opposing side of the case is pretty rigid, comparable to a guitar case which would come with a typical acoustic guitar. It could accurately be described as semi-rigid: it is flexible enough to endure wearing on a belt, while also being stiff enough to offer protection against bumping at speeds and force typical of the average person's gait. This feature is further strengthened by the (canvas-like) polyester exterior, which also features a fixed strap that is identical to that which one will find used for a seat belt in any modern passenger vehicle. The detail absolutely helps improve the overall strength and durability of this case.

If only the advertised dimensions had been accurately portrayed, I would have been extremely happy with this product.

Best Deals for Case Logic QPB-201 EVA Molded Compact Camera Case (Black)

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program We have a couple of Canon ELPH cameras, and have been using various cases for them, including a really nice one from Crumpler. I always love the simple, clean lines of Caselogic products and this one is no exception. The case itself is very good quality, with a nice plush finish on the interior to protect those delicate (and scratch-catching) LCD screens on little cameras. It has other clever features like the snap on the belt strap can be supported with your finger so you aren't pushing it into the camera to snap it shut (easier to see than to describe in writing). Also, rather than opening up like a clam shell, the case has gussets in the bottom that keep the contents from falling out when opened completely. It makes it slightly more difficult to use, but the security this offers is definitely worth it. When worn on a belt, this will prevent the camera from flopping out onto the ground when you unzip the case.

Also included is a lanyard type strap for around-the-neck if you are into that sort of thing. If you aren't it is easily detachable with a little clip.

The only down-side I can find for this case is that there is only one zipper. This means that you can't close the zipper and have the camera's strap sticking up through the top of the case. Its a minor flaw, really, consider the other benefits of this case and its relatively low price.

Honest reviews on Case Logic QPB-201 EVA Molded Compact Camera Case (Black)

This case is very nice and protecting for your Canon Power Shot Elph 300 HS. The only reason I will return it is the Colour, said to be Light Blue and on the pictures looks to be a very nice turquise Blue, which in reality is GREEN. I will return it tomorrow and have already ordered a Black one instead. The very soft and fluffy inside is very well protecting for the LCD screen and when zipped all around it is a very good protection for your camera, incase you should drop it. My son got one of this in black together with his new Camera (Canon PS Elph 300 hs)in June and he has talked so much positive about it, carrying it for long backpacking trips etc so I decided to get one for myself as well.I only give it 4 Stars due to the misleading Colour, otherwise the quality is Superb!
