I have the Pelican 1020 Micro-Case in Mossy Oak (No carabiner).

Inner Dimensions: 5.31" x 3.56" x 1.68"

Outer Dimensions: 6.37" x 4.75" x 2.12"

These are the claims:

* GREAT FOR RUGGED SPORTS NOT FOR SWIMMING OR SUBMERGING

* Water resistant, crushproof, and dust proof

* Easy open latch

* Rubber liner for extra protection doubles as o-ring seal

* Automatic Pressure Equalization Valve balances interior pressure, keeps water out

* Stainless steel hardware

* Carabiner

* Lifetime Guarantee of Excellence

* Available in clear with color liner or solid

It's a good size. I haven't fully tested it, but I wondered about the "Crush Proof" claims so we drove a Chevy Lumina over it. Case and contents (various survival stuff including a lensatic compass) were undamaged. Pretty impressive.

For the price, you can not honestly find a better case for your hand-held equipment. After many years using these cases in the military, I can attest -first hand -that these cases are durable. I've actually seen one fall out the back of a landing aircraft and survive the impact (including the contents inside). After that, I was sold. I've got one of these for my GPS, my digital camera (Pelican 1010), even my camcorder (Pelican 1050). I love the idea that I can throw it in a backpack and don't need to worry about it getting crushed or wet. The bottom line: It's a great case, and I have no reservations recommending it.

Best Deals for 1020 Micro Case

Great protection for delicate item(s). I got it for a GPS unit which has a big, vulnerable display screen. Of course, you can't expect a custom fit on the interior but I got the closest size to the GPS unit and then used some leftover bubblewrap to keep the unit from slipping about inside the case. I choose a bright yellow color to make it easy to find in darker areas of the car or to standout anywhere it's placed. It's apparent that while you cannot drive over the case and expect protection, you CAN expect the case to survive well should moderately heavy items get stacked on top, or from other less-than-extreme abuse. A cheap insurance policy with only one premium.

Honest reviews on 1020 Micro Case

We use it for a digital camera case (as we have with other size Pelican cases). Easy to use and it is sturdy.

The Pelican 1020 Micro-Case is a great, solid and durable case that will handle a lot of use and abuse. It has an extremely strong polycarbonate body, clear lid for visibility of internal contents and an automatic pressure purge valve. The Micro Case will protect your contents as it is watertight and crushproof.

I actually use my case as a basic first aid kit which is stored in the front pocket of my Maxpedition Noatak Gearslinger. The measurements of the case are 6.4 x 4.8 x 2.1 inches. The latch works well and stays in place when closed. While it is a relatively small case it holds the following first aid items:

-18 Advil

-12 Tylenol

-2 Bayer Aspirin

-2 Immodium AD

-2 Zyrtec

-2 Pair of Latex Gloves

-5 1/32 oz. packets of 1% Hydrocortisone Cream

-4 1/32 oz. packets of Neosporin

-1 1/8 oz. packet of Burn Jel

-12 Ultra Tums Extra Strength Tablets

-1 Benzalkonium Chloride Towelette

-8 Alcohol Swabs

-4 Sterile Packets of Blister Treatment

-1 2x2 Gauze Pad

-2 Knuckle Bandages

-2 Large Band-aids

-4 Small Band-aids

-1 Small Black Sharpie

-1 Roll Dental Floss

Obviously it is not a complete trauma kit but it does meet many basic needs. The Pelican 1020 Micro-Case has worked exceptionally well as my basic EDC first aid kit and has come in handy on more than a few occasions.

I highly recommend the Pelican 1020 Micro-Case as it is extremely durable and dependable.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I took this bag on vacation with me. It holds my Canon DSLR with my extra lens. It is nicely padded and has a great padded separator included. My camera, in this bag, got tossed into a large tote and thrown around in the car with no problems. The camera survived getting dropped from a height of about 5 feet onto the ground in the case with no problems at all. It holds all my extra batteries and lens covers and I still had room for a few extras so I didn't always have to carry my purse. All in all this is a great bag. I would have given it 5 stars but it has a right shoulder orientation and I usually carry it on the left so the buckle was often against my body. I would recommend this for most camera enthusiasts. It is lightweight, durable and a great size.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This is an okay combo bag and was able to carry a very simple SLR set, and some of your essentials too. The material is light weight and I really like the color of the bag. The strap is wide and comfortable to wear on your shoulder or cross body. This is not a unisex bag, it looks more like a sporty purse and will not carry larger more expensive SLR sets, there will be no room or protection for all the accessories and equipment. It you want a great sporty purse this is your bag, but it's not a great camera bag.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I used this bag with my Nikon DSLR and two lenses. The padding, which is only in the center of the bag, works well at cushioning the camera but there is little to protect the lenses on either side. I like that there is a couple of zippered pockets for cards and keys. It doubled as my purse on vacation. However, the strap is so wide, it's difficult to keep on my shoulder. I have to loop it cross-wise over my neck and that's not comfortable. Overall, it worked all right for me, but I wouldn't use it for rougher situations. There's just not enough cushioning.

Honest reviews on Lowepro LP36572-0WW Photo Sport Shoulder 12L (Purple/Grey)

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I love this bag. I've been looking at more expensive bags, that look more like purses, but just haven't wanted to spend the money.

When I received this bag, the Lowepro Photo Sport shoulder bag, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it. The purple/plum color is very nice, a good inconspicuous color! The strap is comfortable and adjustable. The side pocket holds quite a bit, I use it for my charging cords when vacationing, such as phone, kindle, etc.

The inside of the bag is very roomy, there is a velcro strip on the bottom inside which I use for my camera charger, and a nice removable pouch that has an insert/separator. I am able to fit my camera, an Olympus e410 and 3 lenses in it perfectly, along with my purse items.

I recently took the bag on vacation, and was very happy with it. No digging into my shoulder and it looks much nicer than my old bag.

The workmanship seems good, I think this bag will hold up quite nicely.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This "camera bag" looks and feels like a sport purse with a camera insert inside. The insert is small and is more made for a mirrorless system or micro 4/3. In any case, the insert offers little protection as it moves around a fair bit in the main part of the bag and would knock up against all your other stuff. My preference in camera bags is for tight secure fit. Organizing options are limited, with two outer zippered pockets and an interior mesh pocket, none of which have any organizing potential so your stuff is just in there loose. There is also a pocket for a water bottle, but it does not look waterproof, so condensation could be a problem for your gear! The color is fairly ugly purplish grey (more grey), so even style wise it is pretty darn ugly.

It's a large enough camera case, and very protective. However, it is too big to fit in my hard shell Aero backpack, even though this backpack has already the biggest volume among boblbe-e backpack products. If I force it in the hard shell backpack, the shape is deformed like a camel hump...

It's a good choice if you want to use it as a camera bag without inserting in the hardshell backpack anyway. To match with the hard shell backpack... redesign is necessary in my opinion.

I was looking for a small camera bag to take on an overseas trip with me (to put in the carry-on). It needed to house my:

Olympus PEN E-P3 12.3 MP Live MOS Interchangeable Lens Camera with 14-42mm Zoom Lens (White),

Olympus MSC Lens MSC 40-150mm R f4.0-5.6 for Digital PEN Cameras,

Olympus MCON-P01 Macro Converter, and

A spare battery (STK's Olympus BLS-1 Battery 1800 mAh).

I don't even remember the number of bags I looked at, read reviews for, etc. Somewhere someone mentioned a Kata bag as an alternate choice and so I went to check it out. After reading another set of reviews, looking at the manufacturer's website and the different sizes they offered, I finally settled on the LighTri 310. When it arrived, I could hardly believe that the box UPS delivered contained a camera bag it was just so light-weight and small. Mentally already preparing to have to send it back, I opened the package and was actually surprised by the spacious interior and small footprint this bag offered. Here are my thoughts on the LighTri 310, in no particular order:

PROs:

Extremely light-weight. Before seeing this bag, I thought my Lowepro Rezo 110 AW Camera Bag was not too heavy but the Kata beats it with ease.

Narrow depth. The problem I had with the Lowepro was that it was a bit too deep to comfortably store in my carry-on and be able to also get all the other stuff in that I needed for the trip. The Kata makes this exercise a lot easier.

Bright-colored interior. Things don't get lost and are quickly distinguished from each other.

Good weight distribution. Even fully loaded with all of the above, the bag feels quite comfortable when worn.

Rain cover which covers the front and top of the bag in case of a downpour.

Small exterior pocket is useful for spare batteries and maybe a USB cable (Note: It is too small for the charger unless it is a very compact one with no cable attached).

Sufficient padding while at the same time flexible enough to be squeezed a bit. It is a happy medium between a rigid and a soft bag but more on the soft side.

CONs (not too significant but wanted to mention them anyway):

The one thing that bugs me the most (and is the reason for the 1-star deduction) is that the interior divider cannot be fastened just anywhere inside the bag. Only roughly half the length of the two interior sides is of a material the divider can adhere to. The other half is slick nylon which one cannot fasten the Velcro-d divider to. This interferes with the usability of the bag as cameras with long lenses cannot necessarily be accommodated if one plans to also carry a second lens in the divided compartment. In other words: The camera compartment cannot be made long enough in such instances. When my 40-150 mm lens is attached to the camera, it fits very snug indeed, and the divider is almost not attached anymore because it is forced over to the nylon half of the bag by the length of the lens...

The rain cover is great I just wish it could be stored inside the bag in much the same manner Lowepro stores its rain covers (in a small "flap" on the outside of the bag). As it stands, the Kata cover must be attached via its plastic carabiner to the outside of the LighTri, or inside with/underneath the camera/lenses. Both ways are not too convenient the cover or the camera would get wet before the cover could be attached.

I wish the shoulder strap was at least slightly padded and could be removed. I like to take off shoulder straps when I travel for the simple reason that it is more space-efficient to fold up the strap separately from the bag.

SUMMARY:

Despite the few issues I see with the LighTri, I think it is a great and well-made bag for anyone who is looking to go light and does not want to bring all of their photographic equipment with them. Would buy it again.

I don't like bulky camera bags. I don't carry a lot of gearprefer to be somewhat of a minimalist. I suppose that's why I resisted getting any sort of DSLR until recently. Finally took the plunge and bought a Panasonic GH1. Someday, I will get the 20mm lens, but for now will have fun with the 14-140. So I was looking for a bag which would hold my GH1 with an additional lens in the future and maybe a flash (though when I get the 20mm lens, I probably won't use the flash much).

I was debating between this and the 312wasn't sure from the description if the 310 would be big enough. Well, it definitely is big enough. If fact there a couple ways to fit the camera into the bag, depending on your preference. And there will be plenty of room for the 20mm lens. Plus I could easily fit another battery (if I decide to get one), SD card, etc. It BARELY fits the camera and a flash (with no room for the 20mm), so if you want to carry a flash at all times, I would suggest going bigger.

The strap is nice and lightweight and I've adjusted it so that the fat parts sit on my shoulder with the camera on my back and on my side. I'm guessing the 312 strap would be a bit more comfortable (it looks like it's padded), but I don't mind carrying my minimalist setup all day. The double zipper is nice for quickly taking my camera out, but it takes a bit longer to put it back in. Overall, it's just what I was looking for!

Most camera slings are giant bags that don't work for mirrorless shooters. Thus a compact sling like the Kata LightTri-310 is highly desirable to make the most of the size advantages that mirrorless cameras make possible. Since everyone's requirements vary, I'll state mine clearly: I wanted a sling that keeps both my hands free when I'm not shooting, is waterproof or covered in case I get caught out in the rain, is just big enough for a mirrorless camera (I have a NEX-6), a lens, lens cleaning supplies, and a spare battery. Finally, it had to be high quality, look good, have usable ergonomics, and be durable. I ordered and sent back quite a few bags until I found this little gem.

Since the pros and cons have been covered well in other reviews, I'd just add that this is not for shooters with lots of equipment or complex needs. It is, however, ideal for maximizing the all-day comfort and quality that the mirrorless camera revolution has brought to photogs everywhere. It fits essentials and gets out of the way, and will likely last. Would buy again.

Here is a great video explaining the features of the Dolica GS-350 shoulder bag. The standout feature of the GS-350 is that is the size of truck. Its huge and can hold lots of equipement for the traveling photography. It can carry around 10-15 lenses of various size and still have room for multiple camera bodies.

I really do like this bag. It fits my Nikon D7100 and the few lenses I own with room for at least a few more. The interior yellow-orange color offers good contrast against the black camera, lenses, and other equipment so finding things is a bit easier compared to a bag with a black or dark interior. The interior is adjustable so you can organize your cameras and lenses in a way that makes sense to you personally. The shoulder strap has a curved pad that actually stays on your shoulder (something that doesn't always happen with other bags). My only complaint, and it's a small one, is that I'd prefer to have a few more smaller pockets available. But compared to what else is out there, this bag is a great buy. I highly recommend it.

I got this case (in green) recently for my new Canon SD1100 IS camera. If you just want to protect your camera from daily wear-and-tear, then I would recommend this case for its semi-rigid body and durable exterior. If you're looking for aesthetics, this case is probably not for you. The craftsmanship is poor, and the detachable strap is very flimsy. Also, you shouldn't get this case if you want to carry all of your various camera accessories at once. To summarize:

Pros:

fits most compact point-and-shoot cameras

semi-rigid body / durable exterior

reasonable price

comes in a variety of fun colors

Cons:

poor craftsmanship

flimsy detachable strap

not enough room for additional camera accessories (e.g. charger, etc.)

This combination case and mount is a great solution for using your GPS in more than one car and being able to quickly remove your GPS--and any evidence of it--when you leave your car. I have a Garmin 1450, and it fits into this case snugly. Any difficulty removing it from the case isn't an issue for me, as I have no reason to take it out. Any problem removing the power cable isn't an issue either, as I leave the cable plugged into the GPS after unplugging it from the car, and wrap it around the case after I've folded the case around the GPS, then put the whole thing in my bag. No messing with a separate case or trying to hide a separate mount so that it's not visible in the unoccupied car. It's inevitably going to hang down and obstruct something--either an AC vent, radio control, or something, but it's easy enough to lift the hanging part out of the way and reach underneath or adjust its position slightly with one hand. Similarly, if the angle isn't right, or there's glare, it's very easy to adjust the position slightly by moving the sticky mount just a little bit. The mount grips the windshield without fail. Another big positive is that it's not above the dashboard, blocking any of my view, which I think is a real safety concern with a 5" GPS in a small car. The only negative, and this is a small thing, is that the sticky silicone part ends up against the GPS screen when the case is folded closed, and it leaves on the screen subtle prints of the texture of the sticky pad. I keep a small microfiber cloth (like you use for eyeglasses or computer screens) tucked into the little stretchy flap on the back of the unit to be able to periodically wipe the screen clean.

This little wallet like holder works very well holding your GPS to the dash of most cars, while making it extremely easy to take with you. It was the perfect solution for us renting a car in France. Unit was protected by Lowepro when in carry on bag, and instantly available when you needed it in car or navigating on foot.

Best Deals for Lowepro 5.0 Navi Dash GPS Mounting Case

I just got this and it is really convenient. I would agree with the comment that you can not adjust the angle of the GPS as it hangs from the dash, so if you need your GPS to be "just so" to see it, then maybe this isn't for you. Or, if you always have your window mount up in the same car, then fine, you are all set. But, I have three cars and the GPS moves between them all. So for me this is really handy because it is easy to deploy, a stable mnount, AND a great case. I don't like fooling with the window mounts and the weighted pads are bulky, heavy and the GPS can block part of your view. Nothing's perfect, but this does just what it says it will do. Build quality is good. So far I am really pleased.

Honest reviews on Lowepro 5.0 Navi Dash GPS Mounting Case

This sounded like a great idea, much easier than fooling with a windshield mount. It's a nice quality case, worked as advertised, held on the the dash with no problem, no slipping. BUT in my car it hung at an angle tilted slightly away from me, and the sun was on it, and no matter what I did I could not see the screen clearly. If you wear glasses as I do, be aware that you may not be looking through the right part of your lens with this hanging in front of the dash instead of near eye level on the windshield. A great product for those who are able to see clearly at that angle. The other drawback is that the windshield mount weighs about 1 pound in order to anchor securely to the dash, so when trying to travel light its just that extra bit of weight to tote. Also a bit awkward trying to plug the power cord into it. I am returning this as it just doesn't work for me.

This case fits my Lumix LX-7 perfectly even with the EZFoto auto open lens cap installed, which is the main reason I bought it. The case states that it is 44% leather and 16% PU. It appears well constructed, is attractive and looks a lot more expensive than it is. The inside is a soft gray suede type material -perhaps it is real suede, it's hard to tell. The case is comprised of two parts. One part screws onto the bottom half of your camera and can be used with or without the top part, which covers the top and lens part of your camera and snaps in three places to the bottom part. There is a space on each side for your camera strap to come out so that you can still hang it around your neck. You can use the camera without completely removing the top part of the case by just unsnapping it in two places and kind of twisting the case out of the way. I can't imagine any reason that anyone wouldn't be very happy with this case, at least if you have the Lumix LX-7.

This set is a good value. It's not perfect by any means and isn't absolute top quality. But so far, it has served for my intended purposes.

Case: Overall, it's a decent quality and looks nice. The metal snaps (to attach the 2 parts) seem like they're attached to the material pretty securely and it doesn't seem like they're going to tear off anytime soon. As other reviewers have mentioned, the case has two parts: one which covers the lens and the front and back sides of the camera and the other attaches to the bottom. It's fairly easy to handle but you will need to remove the top part completely to take a picture and the bottom piece to access the battery compartment as well as the side port compartment.

Auto-lens cap: Works ONLY without a lens filter, otherwise the "triangle/prongs" which cover the lens will get stuck and won't close. Also, the cap triangles -while not loose by any means - could fit a little more snuggly when closed to better prevent dirt/dust from getting to the lens. I haven't had any issues with this but I also make it a point to leave the case on when not in use. Other than these 2 things, it works out well and is more convenient than having to deal with a manual cap. Note: instructions on how to remove the lens ring in order to attach the cap are NOT provided. But you can find demonstrations on youtube.com

Screen protector: Not much to say here other than it fits the screen perfectly.

Mini tripod: Works with the case on and screws into the bottom. I haven't really used this much but it seems fine.

Lens cloths: These are also decent. Although the cord on the keychain one got loose on me.

Overall, I would recommend this set for another LX7 user.

This is a case if you want to take everything that you need for photography and then you can fit various other personal articles as well. The construction is top notch, but this case is advertised as having a locking mechanism. (I'm going to Honduras in October '04 and that was attractive). Also, since the large size of this case, you may want to purchase a smaller case for the lighter day trips.

This bag is perfect for my H5 "pro-sumer ultrazoom" camera. It should fit any similar camera or a small-medium SLR (as long as it doesnt have a huge zoom lens). It is a very very well thought out item. Plenty of room for my camera, lens adapter, tiny tabletop tripod, a couple spare AAs, and a spare memory card. It looks fine for men to carry too: I was a bit concerned it would look too much like a purse, which it doesn't. Includes plenty of padding to protect the camera, without adding too much bulk. Similar priced bags I have looked at in stores dont compare, this is much nicer. Includes a waterproof cover that fits into a small pocket built into the bag. Has an adjustable padded divider inside that allows you to keep accessories separate from the camera.

Still a great bag for my ultrazoom camera and accessories. If you are using a Sony H or Canon S 12-15x zoom p&s, it is exactly what you need.

I just bit the bullet and bought a good DSLR setup. I bought a Canon D20. the D20 will not fit this bag at all with EF-s 18-55is lens. It can be crammed in with the "nifty 50" prime lens, but it still doesn't fit well. This bag is really not usable with a full size DSLR. The D20 is a bit bigger and heavier than the Rebel line (xt, xti, xsi), so those might be usable if you don't have a very large lens, but full size SLRs are a no-go.

I got this for my Panasonic DMC-FZ3 and it is perfect. The attention to detail in the build features and quality is great. Puts the $5 cheaper Targus that I tried (and Amazon recommended for my camera) to shame. I would think the Nova Mini would work well for a medium sized zoom. There is a complete description of the size of their bags and camera compatibility on the Lowepro website. Very impressed with this bag.

Every time I buy a camera, I buy a LowePro AW series bag for it. I only have to choose size and shape, knowing every bag will be excellent. By the way, I tend to use Adorma or BH Photo for photography related items.

This is a handy bag. It's only major drawback is that it looks a bit camp, like a handbag. It's not a very manly bag, but if you can take the jeers and catcalls from those sons-of-bitches, you'll enjoy it. The main pocket comes with a pair of dividers that can be used to split the bag into segments; the official way of using the bag involves having the camera body near the lid, with the lens pointing downwards, although in my experience this tends to make the bag top-heavy unless you have a couple of other lenses in the bag as well. However, it's easy to remove a divider they're held in with velcro and fit the camera sideways, with space for a lens.

The main pocket is big enough to fit a Canon 1DS-sized camera with a small prime lens on the front, such as a 35mm f2 or a 50mm f1.4, with hollow space for batteries etc. If you have a smaller body there is just enough space for a mid-sized zoom and perhaps a second lens stuff in the side, although it might be a tight fit. If you have a larger zoom, e.g. Canon's 35-350, you'll need to carry it separately. If you're doing the shopping you can just about get a can of something and some noodles into the main pocket. There isn't space anywhere on the bag for a bar of chocolate, and even if there was, it would melt and become squashed.

There are several pockets around the bag, and a compartment near the bottom that holds a waterproof cover. This pulls out and goes over the top of the bag, leaving space for the straps but preventing you from opening it. Fair enough given that it would be raining. The straps feel a bit flimsy they're made of plastic, they rotate freely, and I imagine they will break first. The only other problem I can think of is that the zippers are very noisy when you walk around; they jangle conspicuously, and it is hard to muffle then with gaffer tape. Also, I'm not fond of the big LOWEPRO logo on the front, which will surely attractive unwanted attention. And it would be nice if there was a way to wear the bag with the top unfurled, for quick access to the camera, but the design of the lid prevents this. And it would be great if, when I open the bag, Scarlett Johansson pops out, and her brain has been completely wiped and re-programmed to love the first man she sees, which would be me.

Nonetheless the bag feels generally thought-out. The pocket inside the top flap is padded and has a cover for the zipper so that it doesn't scratch your camera. The front pocket is just the perfect size to store a copy of "Quotations from Chairman Mao Tse-Tung", and so if you ever find yourself lost for instruction you will never be alone. You have been alone for so many years.

This bag is perfect for your basic digital camera, with room for other things like your cell phone, sunglasses, etc. if you are going somewhere for the day and don't want to carry a lot. It is also good for plane travel, since it will fit nicely into your carry-on and still be protected. I would definitely recommend this bag.
