True, the bag really looks nice but, functionality wise, it's horrible. The wide metal and plastic clip would need your full attention and both hands when you try to close it, if you dont, it will clang-clang-clang away while you're walking. Apart from that the zipper tabs are also jingling when closed. I had to tape them to stop the noise. My biggest complaint about it is that it feels uneven on my back. After a few minutes of walking, the weight seems to shift to the right side (supporting shoulder), I can feel the left side of my back being exposed as the bag covers more of the right side of my back. The camera compartment is ok. I was surprised that my camera with 400mm lens attached was able to fit inside. Drawing the camera is ok, but not as fast as with professional camera bags, about 5 seconds slower. I confess that I bought this mainly for its looks and its size, (small enough for easier travelling, and can even fit inside a 45L backpack) its looks smart enough for roaming around in a city with. However, I wouldn't recommend this product to other serious photographers. They'd be better off with an ugly black lowepro or vanguard.

This bag serves as my "go-to" bag for grabbing whenever I'm heading out to do a quick camera shoot in my local area. I can get my Canon 60D and its 2 lenses, the Canon Flash, extra batteries, lens hood, and charger in it without difficulty. At 5'1" bag loaded like it is, isn't weighing me down any beyond it's minimal bag weight. I also use the bag as an additional luggage item (i.e., purse) when I travel. And, National Geographic has done an excellent job (in my mind) to make the satchel look not anything like a camera bag. Lastly, it's made very well!

Absolutely love this bag! It holds my D3100, lens, ipad, a small umbrella and water bottle comfortably. Without the insert, it's roomy as a day travelling bag. Love its rugged appearance, and that there's a zip all round the top so that prying hands can't get to your contents. The strap is securely stitched to the bag as well. Worth the price!

This bag took several weeks for Amazon to finally ship to me, but it was worth the wait. I was looking for something that would fit my Pentax k-5 + 18-135mm lens attached, i-pad, nook reader, smaller p&s camera/lens, 2 chargers, cables, sunglasses in a fat plastic hard case, cell phone, passport, travel documents, etc. for my next "travel light" trip. In other words, something to stash everything I will need, besides a carry-on for clothes. I think this will do the job nicely. It is sturdy, well made, and quite roomy, but will fit under the passenger seat in front of you. The bag is very lightweight, made with what feels like heavy canvas. The inner padded case for the dslr is removeable, so you can use the bag as a regular small satchel with a large inner compartment. There are two zippered compartments on the outside of the flap that can hold small, flat items. There is a second zippered section outside of the main compartment that will hold all the other incidentals I mentioned. This is the midsized model, as the name Midi indicates. There is a smaller and larger size, so be aware which size you are ordering. The only thing I am not too thrilled with is the buckles on the exterior flap. It's fine for securing everything during transport, but not very convenient if I wanted to have quick access to the my camera. I guess I will just leave the flap unbuckled when I know I will be using my camera. Otherwise, it's a great bag.

The bag itself is made of a thick khaki colored canvas material with a nylon interior lining. The bag itself doesnt have any compartments but comes with a compartment sack that fits in the bag. I like this concept because i can take this out and use the messenger bag for anything else. The compartment sack is nicely padded as well as the bottom of the messenger bag. I really do feel like i can drop this a good 4 feet without any ill effects to my equipment. This bag is big enough to hold my APS-C (Sony a-57) with its attached lens (minolta af 28-135) and an extra zoom lens (minolta af 75-300mm) with room for lens cleaning soln, several 72mm filters, step down filter adaptor rings, small air bulb, lens cloth and a compact charger. All these things pretty much pack this bag full. If you have a larger camera, you may want to choose a larger version (BBK 4?)

I received this bag from China about 2 weeks before it was scheduled to so be aware that the shipping time will probably shorter then whats listed.

Final thought: Im normally skeptical when it comes to Chinese quality, but this bag definitely didn't disappoint. It feels like it will hold up to plenty of use.

I did a lot of research to find what I thought to be the best photo bag. My requirements:

Safely store my gear

Provide ample pockets for my excursions

Provide easy access to my camera / lens

Comfortable to carry all day

Not look like a photo (tourist) bag

I will say, for my purpose, this bag is fantastic. It easily stores by Sony a65, 55-300mm lens, and 18-55mm lens with plenty of pockets for various other items. It is comfortable, water repellent, and until I open it... doesn't look like a photo bag. I highly recommend.

I will also note the shipping was quite fast.

The bag shipped just a couple days after my order with an expected delivery date of 3 weeks after. It showed up in just a week. The bag is pretty nice quality. It feels very sturdy and well built. There are more partitions than I can use but happily they all come out and can be velcroed into place however you wish. The only thing I would want is for it to be a few inches bigger. I've got a D90 with grip and two lenses in it currently and its bulging a bit at the side. I'm still happy with it but if one came out that was big enough to accomodate more gear in the same style bag then I would happily buy it. The straps on the front are adjustable and also snap against the bag so you aren't undoing straps just to get your camera out. I won't take points away from it for size as its just as described. Overall its a good bag and I would recommend it.

I took quite a while to decide on a camera bag because I really wanted something with a good size that wouldn't necessarily look like a camera bag while I was traveling. This bag has lived up to my standards completely it is very spacious, has multiple zippered compartments, and allows me to adjust the size of the padded camera insert. I use a Canon T2i and don't have a lot of gear, but I could easily fit my camera equipment, wallet and keys, water bottle in the outside mesh pockets, a sweater, and several other items. When not using the camera I can remove the insert and continue using the bag.

So far after several uses I have experienced very few issues when the bag arrived the zipper on the back of the bag was stuck and very difficult to open (though this has since improved with use), and after a couple of uses the stitching around the inside zipper closure (under the flap) has begun to unravel, though this will be easy to fix and ultimately prevents the fabric from tearing.

It is a good size bag and I have really enjoyed using it!

I am very pleased with this case for carrying my NEX-6 with the 16-50mm lens (Sony NEX-6L/B 16.1 MP Compact Interchangeable Lens Digital Camera with 16-50mm Power Zoom Lens and 3-Inch LED (Black)). It is nicely padded and there are compartments for spare SD cards and batteries. The small size of this case is perfect for carrying my camera around when I don't plan to use the larger 55-210mm lens.

Edit 5/31 & 6/28/13: The NEX-6 will also fit with one of the following lenses:

* Sony 50mm lens (with lens hood reversed for storage) snug fit

* Sigma 30mm lens (pre-2013 version) easy fit

* Sigma 19mm lens (pre-2013 version) snug fit with lens hood, easy fit when hood reversed for storage

These may help give an idea what other lens-body combinations may work with this case.

Of course, there is no room in this case for an extra lens. But it is great if you know what lens you want to use and just want something to protect the camera.

Edit 6/26/13: For those looking for a case for other cameras, I can tell you that my Canon Vixia HG 20 camcorder fits nicely, though with a very large battery it only just zips closed. There is no place to store larger accessories, such as an external microphone. My Panasonic FZ35 will not fit at all with the lens hood attached, and if I take that off, it is an extremely tight fit too tight for my comfort. Both of these are out of production, but comparison with either of these may give you a better idea whether this case would fit your particular camera.

The description for this case was "off" but I took the chance and ordered it based on the title (size reads 1x1x1 inch! which is obviously inaccurate!). Amazon is going to charge me at least half the price of what I paid for this bag to return it for refund, so I will keep it and maybe put our tiny video camera in it. Just want others to know that it will NOT work for a "superzoom" camera at least not mine (Canon SX50). This case is only for extremely compact cameras, and for that it would be a good buy. p.s. would LOVE it if anyone could recommend something that does work for the SX50. Thanks!

I bought this to fit the Canon SX50 HS camera, it arrived the day before we left on vacation.(me not thinking ahead!)

It is so close, but just does not fit the camera.

Such a shame as it would have been perfect. It was nice enough to keep I now have my GPS and all the accessories in it. so not a total loss.

Ended up going to best buy and picking up a Manfrotto one for 4 times the cost. ($30) due to departing the next morning.

My wife and I bought this bag for our Olympus PEN E-PL1. We have two lenses: 14-42mm and 40-150mm. When the 14-42mm lens is attached to the camera body, it fits in the bag's main compartment along with the larger lens and the battery charger.

If you are looking at this to hold your dslr, you might want to consider stepping up to the bigger version of this. It's small, similar to the size of a medium to large purse, but if you are a micro 4/3 owner like I am, it'll be a great fit for you. I can fit my Olympus ep-3 with a lens attached, an extra lens, my sd card case, manual and some extras. Wish the strap was a bit larger but the bag is very nicely designed and i like having a small compartment for my lens cap since I never remember where I put it. One tip, would be to remove the angled zipper and make it straight across the top so you can fit a small tablet.

This is an overall good camera bag. It is well insulated with sufficient space for a 4/3 camera + a zoom lens. Also, the styling is much nicer than your typical camera bag. Note that the strap does attract lint from light-colored clothes. I docked the review 1 star because after just a few days of use during a trip, the sides of the bag's straps (plus the top grip strap) have lots of white fuzzies on them, pulled from my clothes.

I know this bag is small, and that is why I wanted it... however, it was too small for my camera. I have a cannon camera with a 28-75mm lens and the bag was just too small for them to fit. If I detached them, I may have gotten it to fit, but the purpose of the bag was something that I could cary around so I could easily grab my camera and take pics.

too bad, otherwise it seemed like an ok bag and I would have kept it had my camera fit. If my lens was a little smaller it would have fit just fine.

This is an update to the attached review below. Amazon apparently is showing the same camera bag pictures on two different pages. Vanguard makes two bags the 14Z DSLR and the 15Z DSLR, a bigger bag. If your ordering from the 14Z page you are looking at pictures of the 15Z bag, a bigger bag.

It's very well made and nicely padded but, there is little room for camera equipment. My D-Lux 4 point and shoot in its case takes up half of main compartment in the bag with the other half being taken up by my tabletop tripod. The "ONE" external pocket is full with the camera strap, usb cable and battery charger. That leaves the zipped netting compartment on the under side of the lid for a few small items. It comes with shoulder strap and a chest harness. I have to wonder why with all the work that went into making this bag why they made it so small?

I have had a Yellow BBP DSLR Camera Insert for a little over 2 years now and it's a fixture in my bag. I was surprised and a little happy when I discovered this green Deluxe version of the original. First thought in my head was, this looks nice and big.

I purchased it immediately. Well, almost immediately. Contacted BBP directly about some minor spec details on the Deluxe and Nigel who I dealt with last time, over 2 years ago, responded right away. Ordered through amazon, got it a few days later, and started using it.

This green thing was going to be the new home for some of the lenses that are not in my everyday bag or older lenses. No longer will my lenses be stored in an old amazon box with something soft on the bottom to cushion any bumps. This Camera Insert has room for 6 lenses. The padding is thicker at 3/8" versus what I believe is 1/4" in the yellow original. More cushioning is good. Outside and inside is covered in felt.

I have been using it for over a month now and I have to say that it does what it does. It is a Camera Paddy Insert and it is a deluxe version. It can store more items than the original and has that extra cushion. Depending on that lenses you store in there, it could be a tight fit or a loose fit. If you have a small lenses or your collection is of the mirrorless type, you will have room and if moving the insert, the lens will move around. If you have a lot of mirrorless lenses you might be able to fit 8 lenses if there was another divider. If you have short prime lenses, you could possible stack them on top of each other and put 2 in each slot. The possibilities are really endless. Too bad BBP does not offer additional pads for purchase.

This thing is also great in my medium timbuk2 messenger bag. It fits better than the original. It is a couple inches shorter, but fills out the bag better and holds more (if you need it that day). It is shorter because there is no longer any space to store above the inserts. I wish that BBP included the mesh pockets on the underside of the flap for extra memory or batteries. I am worried about the felt fabric material used throughout the product. In the original the outside was made of durable rip-stop nylon. Felt is great for the inside, but I feel like the outside should have been nylon. Felt just collects fine dust and can get wet easier. I feel that the cover flap is also half an inch too short. It uses a little Velcro tab to securely close the insert, but even when closed there is still a gap which allows dust to enter the 3 outer compartments. The tab is just a piece of Velcro cut with scissors and wasn't straight on mine, but had a curve. They either couldn't cut straight or was it on purpose, who knows.

Like I said earlier, I am using this to store my home lenses that don't get much use. I am going to make little pieces of padding to store more and expand this bad boy. It has a lot of potential with just a few minor annoyances. I am thinking 10 can be stored safely. My suggestions are to make the flap a little longer, more durable exterior and options for more compartment inserts.

The thicker padding and extra room make this thing worthwhile. Take out the inserts and you can store almost anything. At the time of this writing, both the original and the deluxe are both $30 (I paid $35 for the deluxe) so at least people have more options which are always good.

Was looking around to make a DIY DSLR bag and stumbled on this product. I've got a canvas messenger bag that I wanted to convert into a camera bag. When I searched for camera inserts I saw Timbuk2 inserts and this random company called BBP. Went directly to their site and found this new product of theirs. No reviews, but their regular camera insert had decent reviews. So I just got this the other day and I spent the weekend putting it through it's paces. It's a simple design, but I really like the thick padding. I could probably drop this from a pretty high height without damaging my expensive Nikon gear. For $35 it's a no brainer and beats paying hundreds of dollars for a DSLR bag!

I purchased one Zing 502-Grey for my dad and one Zing 502-Blue case for myself.

We both have Olympus E-520 bodies and this case fits with the zuiko digital 14-42mm, 40-150mm, and 50mm macro lenses.

Since no camera bag is capable of suiting every photography purpose, I decided to get a slim neoprene case so that I could throw my DSLR in my backpack for hikes. I usually use a Kata 3N1-10 for the rest of my photography needs, but it's nice to be able to stick my camera in a regular bag and not worry too much. The neoprene is 1/4" thick and seems to provide sufficient padding. Of course, I'd still be weary of dropping my camera, case or no case... The Olympus lens-mount is a little off-center on the body, but the case fits fine. The neoprene can stretch so it accommodates a bit.

I noticed that other reviews did not mention the dimensions of the Zing 502 Large-Size Case, The case can fit Camera bodies that are 6.5" to 6.75" Wide. If your body is on the 6.75" side, it will be a little snug.

Along the bottom, my Oly E-520 body is 2.25" from the back of the camera to the start of the lens, and my hand grip is about 2.5" from the back of the body to where my right hand sits. My camera is 4" from the bottom of my attached tripod quick-release mount to the top of my hot-shoe. My lenses are all about 3" long, including lens cap and 1 filter.

One cool thing about the case is that it's reversible. The interior is black, so if you buy Grey or Blue, you can still flip to Black. It comes with a removable leash so you can attach the case to your camera's neck-strap so you don't have to worry about putting the case somewhere case while shooting. There's also an eyelet on both the inside or outside of the case, so you can hook up the leash on either side, depending on what color you decide to sport. I have the canon xsi and it does not fit the kit lens well. I am actually able to close the case, but it's a stretch and kind of an awkward fit. If you measure the bottom of your camera (from the tip of the lens to the back of the camera) and it's 4" or less, this case should work. Otherwise, get the Zing 520-202 ZXB1 Large Zoom SLR Cover (Blue). Great case, but when they said 4" in the description, they mean lens + camera, not lens only.

I purchased this daypack to carry my Canon 5D Digital SLR, flash or a spare lens, and a few filters while I'm hiking around National Parks etc.. This daypack exceeded my expectations for functionality, style and comfort. The bottom portion offers great protection for my camera gear, with reinforced padding that can be removed and moved to accommodate my gear. Unfortunately I couldn't fit my 70-200mm lens here, but it did fit in the top portion of the backpack. The top part was great for those extras like purse, car keys, sunglasses etc. There are a good selection of little pockets inside to separate your flashcards, batteries, lens cloth, or whatever. On one hike it rained on me, but everything in the backpack stayed completely dry! I didn't have to use the waterproof cover that came with it. From a comfort level, it was awesome! I can wear it all day and not notice it at all. Padding in all the right places, and good separation from my back to allow airflow. The only fault I found is that the first time I used it, the fabric toggles that are attached to the zippers came off, and the design won't allow me to put them back on. The zippers are a good size though, so I haven't missed them.

this backpack is pretty sweet, the reason i returned it is because i already had a backpack when i got this one. i like the way its made to stand upright and has adjustable walls inside the camera part so its convenient and easy to adjust to whatever camera or preference you might have. plus the upper part where you can store personal items is a good size for wallet,keys, phone, extra batteries, flash drives, charger, usb cables, etc. lots of pockets for the organized photographer

Best Deals for Tenba Mixx Photo Daypack

The pack was excellent except for Zipper Pulls. They are not secured very well with their plastic clips and fall off quickly. This was also noted by other reviewers and I expected this when I bought it. "Fix it, Tenba!"

Overall I am pleased as I can fit my Nikon with standard lens, my 300 zoom and my flash into the pack with lots of room for accessory items up top.

My interest in this bag was piqued whenever I saw it as a daily deal. I purchased it for about half the normal price on Amazon (daily deals are your friend!).

The pack itself is just rightnot too big, not too small, and well-padded. It easily fits my T3i and all the accessories I currently have for it. It seems quite durable, even though I have only had it for a couple of weeks. It also has plenty of extra storage space up top for odds and ends. What's more, it looks like just a regular backpack, rather than obviously being a camera bag. I don't know if that will make it less of a theft risk, but it couldn't hurt.

My only concern is that the dividers in the main compartment are a little confusing to set up for a first-time camera backpack owner.

Doesn't scream "EXPENSIVE CAMERA!"

Cons:

Dividers are a little confusing, but they work well once you figure them out

This is a huge bag far too big for a camera. It looks cheaply made and has a plastic feel and velcro strap closure. It looks more like an insulated lunch bag.
