My wife and I are traveling to Alaska this summer and I heard that it rains a lot in some of the cities we will be in. I bought this case to protect her compact camera from rain (not diving). It appears to work but it is hard to use the zoom on her camera through the flexible case. It can be used but with difficulty.

I don't like the expensive, hard-sided leather cases for my Leica D-Lux 20, which is a small digital travel camera that I carry in my pocket or in my purse. But sometimes I need a case for it to prevent the viewfinder screen from being scratched by the keys in my pocket or the dog clicker in my handbag. This roo Case Neoprene Sleeve in magenta, which is intended as a carrying case for Panasonic Lumix cameras, works perfectly. It has some degree of stretch to it, and the zipper seems very strong. Better yet, it fits in my pocket, whereas the leather cases don't. There's also a convenient outside zipped pocket for either another memory card or even another charged battery for a long day of shooting when on the go. It made it through a 76-day transatlantic trip last summer. There's a clip on the outside for an enclosed hand strap if you want to carry it that way. The hand strap also makes it easier to find in an overloaded handbag. Great for other small cameras, too. Very versatile!

This case fits my Pansonic Lumix Digital Camera perfectly. It is padded well for such a small case and has a pocket in the front to carry an extra memory card or battery. It also has a wrist strap that is not shown in the photo.

It is easy to get the camera in and out of the case. I bought the Magenta case which is easy to spot. I've only had the case for a week and taken it to two T-ball events, but I was very happy with it.

I would recommend it.

I have bought this case, and had someone else buy it for a canon s230 digital elph. The case has been with me on a trip to Europe and Alaska, and both times, the case did not get in the way. It clips to your belt, or gives protection if you put it into another bag. The case will hold the camera, and a spare memory card. It is the smallest case you can get and still have protection for the camera.

Fits my Olympus Tough 8010. It is sometimes hard to judge whether a particular case will fit a given camera, and you could end up buying several cases before finding the right one. I did check Tamrac's website for their cross reference, and they did indicate this case would fit.

And it does, but it could have been 1/4" longer. Not that the case doesn't fit the camera fairly well, but the camera does stick out of the case just a bit. I usually roll up the camera strap at the top of the case before folding the cover over the camera. When I do that with this case, the strap is exposed to the open sides of the case even with the cover closed. This can result in the strap falling out, or the possibility to get snagged on something.

A minor issue, so I still gave it 5 stars. But an extra 1/4" of depth and it would have been perfect.

Not too thick, not too thin for good protection of my Canon Powershot A1200 which I carry at all times. This Tamrac 5686 bag has held up very well-attached around a strap/belt or when tossed into another bag/medium-sized purse. Doesn't take up much room, so I don't mind that there is no space for extra batteries. (They are easily slipped into a pocket.) Nice little velcroed pocket for a memory card though. The velcro in general still sticks together firmly. I am very pleased overall.

I recently purchased the "Opteka SLR & DSLR Camera Short Zoom Holster Case w/Adjustable Shoulder Strap" to house my Canon 40D (with 28-135 mm lens) for an up coming trip abroad. The holster arrived promptly, to my discovery that it is fractionally too short for my camera.

Re-measuring the 40D, with lens, and the Opteka holster revealed that the manufacturer touts its SRL & DSLR case with, apparently, exterior measurements. The camera's external dimensions wont fit inside the case!

I liked the low price, thick padding, long strap, quick function zipper, handy extra pocket, and black color of this Opteka holster. It is certainly recommended for cameras, with lenses smaller than 7.5" L by 6.5" D by 4.5" H. The "Exterior Dimensions: 7 3/4" L x 4 1/4" D x 7 1/2"H" posted @ Amazon are misleading. (This Opteka holster is smaller than this on the inside. It needs to be, at least, another .5" longer.)

I returned it requesting a refund.

I fretted over finding "the perfect camera bag" for too long. With this sucker being $10, I decided "what the heck" and tried it. It is an outstanding value at $10, and it sold me on the idea of using a 2-bag solution -one for the camera with a default lens mounted and one for the rest of my lenses. I cannot recommending such a combination enough. I have a Pentax K100D and my default lens is a Pentax AF 28-105mm f/4.0-5.6. I keep my DA 18-55mm f/3.6-5.6, DA 50-200mm f/4.0-5.6 and Zenitar FE 16mm f/2.8 in my separate lens bag (although all of those lenses will fit on the camera in the holster).

The front area is great for temporarily storing caps, filters, etc... The top handle is nice, as is the strap -nice to have both. Although it can go on a belt, it's just too big to sit with it on such. It also looks like that belt loops would eventually give way under the strain. I also agree with another poster than not having a camera brand name splattered all over it draws less attention to the bag, which is a bonus. If you absolutely have to sport your camera brand name, just leave the camera straps themselves danging out or wrapped around the top handle (which I do myself, to make it easier to pull out).

If you have a full frame or large lens, then this may not be big enough. Just FYI. You need to be using a more modern, more compact dSLR and its lenses. While it does fit my APS-C sensor sized (24mm x 16mm) Pentax K100D plus full-frame-sized (standard 35mm compatible) Pentax AF 28-105mm f/4.0-5.6, it won't fit much bigger.

I bought this for those times when I was taking just our Nikon D40 with 1 lens attached to the camera body (standard 55mm or a zoom 200mm lens). While the case is not leather, it isn't expensive either. It's perfect for when I want the camera protected when I toss it into a backpack or carry it otherwise unprotected. I do have a regular gadget bag, but if you don't need a spare lens and any other misc equipment and want to be minimally encumbered but still enjoy the quality of your D-SLR pictures, this is a great and compact way to protect the camera. One note of caution: I don't think you could squeeze a lens longer than the Nikon 200mm in without potentially putting too much pressure on the LED screen when the case is zipped.

I originally bought this case for myself to fit my Sony Cybershot WX150, unfortunately it was too small! That was my own mistake though, I hoped I could squeeze it in since I loved the case so much, but no luck. So I ended up giving it to my boyfriend for his Canon Elph 300 and it fits perfectly! It's a hard shell case and seems very durable. He uses the strap to wear around his neck or just keeps it in his bag and the camera has been safe without any incident. This bag is an amazing bag. It will hold my D5100 with 70-300mm lens attached, both my batteries, my memory card holder, battery chargers, plenty of paperwork, a lightweight-tripod AND monopod, lens cleaning kit, and plenty of small stuff. I take this bag to sports events, concerts, anywhere I need it. Very compact, but surprisingly lightweight. And how can you beat the price? Best Buy offers a bag 1/3 the size for 2x the price. This is a solid gadget bag that holds my DSLR with a telephoto zoom lens attached, plus a spare lens and a flash, all safely padded. The pockets hold the usual detritus (filters, cleaning stuff, etc.). I like the orange interior; went to a night football game and it was easy to spot and snag items stored within the bag.

I haven't yet used the "takeout" feature but I like that option.

This case is exactly as pictured and as described. It comfortably fits a digital SLR camera with lens. Our 55mm lens fits comfortably, therefore a slightly longer telephoto length lens might fit as well. The inside has an extra protective insert which aids in keeping the camera from shifting. The bottom of the case protects the camera lens from hitting any surface upon which it is placed. It has ample zippered compartments for small accessories and also comes with a lens cleaning cloth. I was a little bit skeptical with the case just watching the picture. Nevertheless I took the risk because of the brand.

The case fits perfectly for the Nikon D90, and I feel comfortable with the protection offered to the lens. I specially like that the lens does not touch the bottom of the case. Instead, it has a membrane with a hole in the middle where you insert the camera through the lens. The membrane suspends the camera "in the air" within the case.

The camera is easy to insert and remove.

This case gives you the ultimate in peace-of-mind when traveling: you know your stuff is taken care of. Built better than a Timex watch (it takes a lickin'...) If you have to check your equipment as baggage (I use mine for photography lenses and cameras and acessories), I don't think you will find anything that protects your stuff better than this. I have found no flaws with this case in over a year of use. The foam is spectacular 1 cm square pieces of foam, that you "pluck" to creata custom fit for whatever you have inside. No banging around, just a good, snug fit. And if you screw it up, simply spray aerosol adhesive where required, and "rebuild" the foam (so don't throw the plucked pieces away!) This is very useful if your equipment size changes, or has to be reconfigured. This case will also fit as a carry-on, another plus.

This case was perfect for my project. I am a HAM radio operator and I used this case to hold my "go-kit" radio. It worked perfectly and was the perfect size. I have used this "go-kit" in one practice emergency event and it was easy to carry and set up. Other HAM's in our group were very impressed with the finished project.

It arrived quickly and in good condition being double packed. It is typical Pelican quality (excellent) and should last a very long time. I got it to replace an Underwater Kinetics case that experienced a broken latch. Only problem with the Pelican is it's a little taller than the Pelican and won't fit on the shelf where I kept the other case. No problem, however, I just moved it to another shelf.
